“Worn out hotel, lazy staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

I was on a boat in the marina. The marina staff is fine; the power they offer for hookups needs to be updated for large boats. I went into the hotel to workout and check out the restaurant. The gym is a joke. It is small and dirty with very little to offer. What was funny was there were 3 employees "hiding" in the weight room at 8-9 am on July 7/24 watching TV; but none were cleaning the dirty machines.
The restaurant smelled like a nursing home.
Marina is far away from town.

Stayed at the hotel for one night well spending the weekend on our boat in the marina. The location is very convenient, close to the beach and shops. We were very pleased with all the amenities! Bikes and kayaks are free to borrow an we enjoyed biking around town and to the beach. The beach at the club is small, but the water is very clean. Two pools are small, but well maintained and staffed to deliver food and drinks. Many areas for relaxation throughout the grounds and we loved the various fire puts set up around the club in the evening. The food was only okay though, I would recommend eating offsite. Overall we had a great time and would definitely return.

We recently stayed at the Montauk Yacht Club with our 2 daughters, age 5 and 3. Our room was beautifully decorated with nautical decor and had a large flat screen TV, a small refrigerator, a wet bar with a Keurig machine, a large bathroom with huge soaking tub, and a walk-in closet with changing area and large mirror. My favorite part about the room was the private outdoor deck that had 2 Adirondack chairs, a table, and a comfy lounge bed with nice big pillows. Our room was just steps from the private beach so our view from the room and deck was incredible. We were also a very short walk to both the indoor and outdoor pools and restaurants. The food at the restaurants was spectacular. My children especially loved the beach bonfires that were lit every night and the s'mores kits. We also enjoyed the paddle boards and peddle boats that the hotel provided. I can't wait to book our next stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the ground level that opens up to the beach. We were in room 108.

The location cannot be better. One can sit in their room and watch the boats all day long. If bored -Some attractions in town - just a short ride. Great , very intelligent chef in the kitchen, who is trying to bring the place up. The crowd - is typical "boat guys" and some quite young romantic couples. This is the "GOOD' . The bad - poor management. No real security in the buildings that are separate from the main building. The locks to the buildings are not working. They never used them, I guess. Everyone can just walk in and go straight to the room. No security at the pool. Anyone can use it. I mean, you don't have to be a hotel guest to enjoy the facilities. Although they have a small sign on the pool - "for hotel guests only" - none is enforcing it. They are the part of IGY organization, boats come here and stay overnight, and I guess they haven't figure out how to keep people, who are staying and sleeping on their boats, away from the facilities. During the high season top rooms are very pricey. They rival the Four Seasons. But that place is not Four Seasons.
This is rather motel in great location. It's ok, as long as they provide Four Seasons services..Unfortunately, they don't care..They even charge for morning coffee ,that most hotels ( cheap and expensive alike) provide for free our days for paying guests... For $800 per night they managed to irritate people with $3 morning coffee in paper cups.. There is modern coffee machine in the room - but the water never hot enough for real coffee. Also, there is no morning newspapers in the hotel.None.. They get delivery of 5 copies on USAToday, and those 5 copies are gone in 2 minutes. The receptions suggest to drive to town to get a paper.
On the top of that - the carts with luggage from boats and with dirty towels are roaming the boardwalk and make terrible noise and on occasion are even dangerous - boys are boys , and they are speeding up. If there would be some kind of management there - they would prohibit the driving on the boardwalk - there is plenty of roads on the property to move the stuff around.. All these things made the experience very disappointing . We we happy when we saw the room, and were happy to leave, which seldom happens when we staying in the top hotels...

Room Tip: ask how quite the particular building is.

Have been staying at this "resort"every 3-4 years for long weekends hoping that it would get better. The location cannot be better. The rooms clean and have had new paint but no visible capital improvement. Food and service fair. Rooms facing marina have the best view but the work vehicles run by your porch with great frequency because they don't want to drive the extra distance. Rooms pricey for what they are. Bathrooms look okay but no place to place down your toothbrush or hairbrush. They get the money because of the season and location.

we've been at this marina at least 1x/yr for the last 10. The staff is fabulous, helpful, and courteous. The restaurants are nice. The facility is clean and it's not too far from town. Although I don't stay in the hotel, I have friends that do and have only good things to say. It is on the pricier side but knowing that the east ends' season is short, I get it...They do a really nice job maintaining this property and have made noticeable improvements over the years.

We arrived on a Sunday with our family and it was like we walked into a South Beach pool party. Except the people were older and not as good looking. DJ pumping music, with drunk, tattooed 40-something's drinking and doing Conga lines to 80's rap in the pool. Which led to drunk, adult,Dj'ed belly flop contest. Was not family-friendly or appropriate at all. Crowd cleared out on Monday- but stay didn't get better. Loud, damp air conditioners in rooms, nicks ideate partners in courtyard carried on until after 3am, the carpet in the room smelled like a skunk had been there and the mattresses are so old, you rolled into the middle and felt springs in your back. Closet in bathroom added to damp/moldy/gross feeling. Nothing luxury about this place. We ran out today, glad our 3 day stay was over. On the bright side- Cores Waves has an amazing surf camp my kids loved.
