We spent a Saturday afternoon hiking the Camp Hero trails. We parked near the old radar station which is huge. Took a trail to the bluffs with a great lighthouse view. Then we took The Battery 113 trail which was amazing. There were wooden bridges over creeks on the trail, gently rolling hills and the hike took less than a hour. We also visited the bunkers which housed the WWII 16 inch guns which were amazing.
It was cold so ticks were less a problem than during the summer but the whole area is full of ticks so be prepared
