We've been camping at Hither Hills in the early fall continuously for over 30 years. Great vibes, large beaches, nice facilities, good beach fishing -- life guards and park staff helpful and friendly. Only downside is the occassional large group of noisey, beer drinkers. 10pm quiet time, when observed, sets a nice standard. Moon, stars, surf sounds make for perfect evenings. Good feelings with fellow campers -- "regulars" have raised several generations on Hither Hills vacations.

If you miss the exact 9 month reservation window, please moniter the site for cancellations, you may not get the exact week you want but you will find a week eventually...

The campground does get crazy loud in the summer....some folks need to upgrade to a quiet genorator.... I prefer the off-season...the teens seem to get restless in the summer and wreak havoc in the bathrooms nightly...the adults need to find something for their hormonal teens to do...

But the late spring and fall are wonderful...sleep to the sound of the waves...for like 1/10 the price of a hotel room...

Camping is what you make of it...beach camping involves a lot of sand and sun, if you are not a fan of either, then this is not the spot for you....

Spent a gorgeous fall day at the park and it was great! There was a campground there but they must have been all inside. No one on the beach. It was a perfect day! Great facilities - restrooms, playground, etc. Don't think I'd like to be here in the summer with all the crowds, but I truly enjoyed my solitude at the beach.

This park, which permits camping by tent,car, trailer,etc. is located atop an overlook which permits views up and down the length of the ocean and beach. Its proximity to Montauk, Amagansette and East Hampton, make it an ideal and central location for everything the Hamptons has to offer
