“Beware of ordering drinks at the bar...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

We made the mistake of ordering drinks at the bar while waiting for our table and were surprised to have been charged $18.00 for one very ordinary cocktail. Upon asking for an explanation the sheepish bartender notified me it was due to an expensive vermouth he'd used that I'd not requested. Since it was late, and they'd kept us waiting for a table,we decided not to leave as we should have done, and stayed for a pretty ordinary, overpriced dinner of steamed clams...Never again...

“Sweet, Quaint and Cozy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I came here after our wedding as a "mini moon". Overall, our stay went well and we liked the place.

Pros:
-Location: not in the heart of town (which is what we wanted) but a short car or bike ride away. Beach is local and so is the lighthouse. They also have bikes for free, which was awesome! They have free paddle boarding on the lake, but we didn't utilize it.
-Resteraunt/Bar on site: we didn't eat here, but had drinks. It was a Monday night and there was a good crowd, not rowdy. We sipped drinks around the fire pit, which was romantic and chill.
-Room: The decor was done very well, hobo chic. You could tell the place is European owned. The shower was great!! Perfect for two. ;) The porch and view were a plus.
-Staff: they were attentive and laid back. Not stuffy or pretentious.

Cons:
-Size: It's a small place, which can be a pro for some. It was for us. But in terms of room size, they were rather tight and small.
-Value: In comparison to other places in Montauk, I'm sure this place a steal. The price wasn't terrible, but beware of the treats in the room, they were completely over priced. $4 for a bag of chips or a cup of tea?? Not a bargain. The fridge is stocked with drinks, and actually a beer was prolly the best buy. The resteraunt is also extremely over priced. Which again for Montauk, is the norm.
-TV: no cable

Overall, we were more then satisfied and it was a great place to get away and unwind. We would certainly return.

“This place is beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

Unfortunately, they don't reservations and we had to wait about an 1.5 until dinner, but they have a great fire pit and yummy drinks. We grabbed a few cocktails and a spot by the fire and gazed at the stars for a bit. The crowd is cool, laid back, but still hip. I had an the vegetable curry with halibut, it was so good I would have licked my plate if no one was watching. My boyfriend had the scallops and they was equally as good!

“Great Vibe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

The vibe and interior of this place is cool. They don't take reservations, and the wait was forever so we opted to eat at the bar. The bartenders were awesome. The food was great - esp. the kale salad. Would love to try this place again later in the summer when the sun sets later so that I can see the view...
