“Lovely location with good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

We enjoyed the calamari salad, the asparagus pasta, and the skirt steak. The servings were perfect for four adults. Their special ice cream "sandwich" was amazing. I will certainly go back to this restaurant! On the restaurant dock, check out the cool, huge carp and an enormous turtle. Amazing place!

“Excellent dinner spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

I recently had a lovely group dinner at Harvest in Montauk. The menu is varied and unique. The food is served family style and the portions are very generous. I recommend the calamari salad (amazing!) and we enjoyed both the fish and steak entrees. The ambiance is relaxing and zen-like situated just off a lake.

“The management at Harvest does NOT care about customer service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

We decided to go to harvest to see if it was as good as everyone says. Well, we waited 45 minutes for a table had a bottle of wine (while waiting) and then ordered. About 30 minutes later that came and told us the restaurant had lost power. (Apparently the block had lost power.)

Well, we ordered another bottle of wine (then they said they would not serve guests any more, even if we paid cash) while we waited for the power. They said they were not going to serve any more dinners or drinks so we left a nice tip and left.

We went back the next night and were told the wait was 90 minutes. We mentioned we were sitting last night when the power went out could they move us up the wait list (we had waited the night before.) They said there was nothing they could do and then they turned us to the manager. she said the same thing and didn't care. We mentioned we paid for the wine the night before etc. and they didn't care.

Basically, if they had said thanks for coming back, can we buy you a drink at the bar and we will do the best we can, but make no promises, that would have been great. But they couldn't care less. Obviously they are too caught up in the scene to care about customer service. I said I go to their properties in Westchester and again they didn't care. If this is their attitude why would anyone want to go there and be treated like cattle?

There are plenty of other good and even great restaurant in Montauk that will be glad to see you and you can walk out after a great meal with a smile. Harvest is NOT one of them.
