“Things That Make You Go Hmmm...?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

I recently went to Vinoco for the second time after having had the most wonderful Sangria and delicious empanadas there on my first vist. The Sangria was still excellent, the empanadas still tasted good. I even tried the mini Angus beef sliders which were out of this world. The beef had been marinated in something that gave it a certain "je ne sais quoi." Then I noticed the guys behind the counter were handling all sorts food with their bare hands! They were holding the uncooked empanadas in their bare hands before putting them in boiling oil, they were also bare-handling other items such as the cornbread like things that went with certain dishes. Sorry, not even the excellent Sangria could get me back in there a third time. I wish there was some other rating category, I had been prepared to give this place a very good or excellent until I saw the food being "bare-handled!"

“Avoid at all costs”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

1 lost star for having a television
1 lost star for being told that we had to order right away as the kitchen was starting to "get busy"; flustered, we ordered quickly as the waiter hovered over us
1 star lost for what can only be called non-alcoholic sangria
1 lost star for not having any of the Oreo Party dessert yet offering us just Oreos instead, we declined as...
1 lost star...the pine sol scented mopping that was going on around our table caused us to no longer have an appetite.
1 star lost for the bus-person cleaning the table as we settled the bill and got into our coats.
1 star because I have to assign one.

I can only imagine that the people who gave this place any more than one star have only dined in establishments such as Olive Garden or Appleby's and have not experienced a real "dining experience".

Want good tapas, got to Spain or Manhattan.

If you are one who likes to go and have a top notched dining experience, with top notch service, skip this place.

“You might love this place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

The food was very good for other people. They have a philosophy that everyone tastes better with bacon. They may be right, but the shrimp was wrapped in bacon, the turkey skewer was wrapped in bacon.... They pride themselves on empanadas, but the empanadas are more like deep fried egg rolls with, admittedly, yummy fillings. I think that people who don't think that everything in life is sausage and bacon may not love this place, but people seemed to like it. Have no idea what people who complain of service is talking about. The people were nice and very attentive.

“Best tapaas this side of Barcelona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Having just returned from Barcelona, we were anxious to try a new local Tapas restaurant. We were extremely pleased by the selection, quality and price of the food. Excellent, friendly atmosphere. Definitely a must visit if you are a Tapas fan.

“Go to Vinoco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

We tried the pork and crab empanadas and both were flavorful
We also had the shrimp and bacon skewer which was delicious,
The angus sliders were very tasty topped with fried onion,
The flatbread with chorizo was like having pizza only different
the chorizo kicked up the flavor a notch...all in all an
excellent variety and everything was really good.
