“Don't waste your money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

We chose this restaurant when on our way home to CT. We should have walked out as soon as we encountered a bad smell. It smelled like it wasn't well cleaned. While the staff was nice and attentive the food was not very good. The shrimp in my PadThai had a bad taste and the beef in my kids hibachi beef was tough and didn't taste at all like hibachi food.

“unassuming place, excellent meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Asian 211 Bistro is located on the back side of a building that, in front, holds slightly tacky looking Chinese and Mexican restaurants. Be brave, it's a little hard to spot but you'll be well rewarded.

We were in a mood for Thai. The menu is a bit odd because they don't use any of the Thai names, substituting English descriptions instead. Our impulse was to be skeptical but the food quickly reassured us. The miso and lemongrass soups were perfectly cooked and balanced. The gyoza / steamed dumplings were delicate and flavorful. The house salad was typical shredded lettuce and one cherry tomato but with a very nice ginger dressing. The pad thai (chicken and shrimp) was delicious but differently flavored than either of us was used to. It had a reddish tint and the subtle hint of an anise or licorice-like overtone to it. It was, nonetheless, delicious.

They serve wine but we opted for hot green tea which was more richly flavored that we're used to.

On whole, it was a very fine meal served by what appeared to be a very pleasant, talented and hard-working factory. We paid $28 for a dinner for two. We'd definitely go back.

“Bug in the soup”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

The title says it all, no matter what anyone says about this restaurant once you get a bug in your food it's done. I have had good meals in the past but I will never be returning.

“Nice Little Asian Tuckaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

Checked this place out based on TA reviews and as most of the time they are right on. This place is hidden away off the main road so you really need to know where you're going to find it on the side of a long building. It's sort of hidden away like a nice little secret that only a select few can experience. Don't miss out. Find it and enjoy it. Took family there 'cause we got a hankering for Asian. If you like Sushi, you will enjoyt their huge selection. We opted more for Thai tastes this early afternooon. We ordered several noodle dishes, curry, veggie and meat combos. Sons enjoyed shrimp and stirfry noodles and hibachi chicken. Nothing was left on their plates so I guess they must have enjoyed it. We are very happy to find an alternative to so so Chinese food in the area and recommend that you try this place for something a little more upscale and fresh. The service was very good and the place is very clean. Finally a place where the menu did not stick to my hands. That's a big deal for me and who knew that it was so hard to find.
