“Great Flavors and Variety”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

I have been coming to this place for years and have never had a bad meal, not even close. They have live music that can be a guy with a guitar or a small band on most weekends. I gotta tell you that their staff has been there for years and know many of the regulars but don't worry if you are not one of the regulars, they love this place and it shows.
The blackboard is a revolving hodgepodge of great flavorful foods. The last time there I had a wonderful Chicken Etouffee with biscuits and gravy. My wife had two of their starters for her meal. One was three Quesadillas, she chose chicken, and other was their house salad. She likes her food a little on the milder side.
All of their entrees are served with smashed potatoes, rice, red beans & rice, cheddar grits or a side salad. At the end of the meal they also serve up a couple of Bit O Honeys for you.
One thing you should be aware of is that the only credit card they take is American Express. So bring cash or your AmEx and enjoy the place.

“Just Not the Same”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

RS Jones used to have fabulous food - such original items, in a quirky setting. However, over the past few years, the food just is not the same - while the menu is still very original, and the setting as well, and service is outstanding, the quality of the food has gone down - fatty steaks, overcooked pork chops, etc. Not worth my money, since there are so many other great restaurants in the area.

“Great food,staff & atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011 via mobile

Have been going here for years and never disappointed. Never gets boring as the specials are numerous and always changing. Even if you dont find something on the daily specials menu (which is almost impossible with so many choices) there is always the standard menu with some delicious choices. The sweet potato pancakes with apple butter as a starter and the "six shooter" skirt steak with smashed potatos are favorites. Also the Best ribs and chili I have ever had. Friendly and welcoming staff make you feel like you're family.
