“Lake view Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

This is a well built, older, quality resort right across from Lake Chautauqua. It has a grand history depicted in photos posted around the lobby. Many of the lake view rooms have comfortable balconies. The indoor pool & spa are inviting. I'm sure the service is 4 stars in the summer. We visited in April when you ring the bell someone shows up at the front desk within a few minutes. Rooms are well furnished and comfortable. The Institute is 2 miles away, there are 2 restaurants you can walk to, one with white tablecloths and one kind of "Mom's Diner" type with home cooking.

Hotel wi-fi worked well, and there is a guest computer in the lobby, .Upstairs is an exercise room. Continental breakfast is enough to get you started, like coffee and a donut to tide you over. Other reviewers have said the place is run down, which is an overstatement IMHO. It is a big expensive place to keep up and they are doing fairly well. The lake is across the road, beyond the trees and some cottages. I doubt if there is any bargain place to stay in this gorgeous setting on this beautiful lake. Webb's World is a good choice.

Stayed at Webb's Reosrt this past weekend to see the fall foliage. The hotel is nice and comfort just like home. The empolyees were very friendly people. We stayed in a king room with a private balcony overlooking the lake. Swam in the heated pool very relaxing and enjoyable. Enjoyed the continental breakfast with consisted of bagels, muffins, coffee, juice yogurt and bananas. We got to know the lady who runs the candy shop and she offered us a tour of the candy shop. That day they were making peanut brittle delicious!!! I would say if you are lookimg to get away Webb's is a great place!!

My wife and I wanted to find a lake front location that had a jacuzzi. After looking around, Webbs popped up. I called to check the information and they told me that the room was lake front with a great view of the morning sunrise. We were sold. Once we got there, we noticed that the whole interior of the hotel was out dated. Then we went to the balcony to check out the view of the lake to notice that 80%+ of the view was of houses and trees. It was not a clear shot of the lake at all. Another thing that was kind of bothersome, we paid almost $500 for two nights and we still had to pay another $7 a person to use the on property miniature golf course. The staff was decent and the continental breakfast was ok too. It seems that everything is first come first serve....I went to get some apple juice for my wife and the machine was out of juice along with the vending machines were mostly empty too.

It was a decent room and location but worth about half of what we paid.

Room Tip: If you are looking to rent a lake front room, look on Craig List. Rent a cottage for the same cost...

We had a wonderful stay this past weekend while celebrating our anniversary! The room was very spacious and clean! We really enjoyed the very large jacuzzi tub which was also the shower. A tub of that size is very hard to find in a hotel. Dinner at Webb's Restaurant was excellent and it is so nice it is right next door. We also enjoyed making coffee in our room's Keurig coffee maker before sitting on the balcony looking at the lake in the morning. Breakfast was continental as many hotels are, but we were more than happy with our muffins (which tasted homemade), fruit and juice that we brought up to the room and ate on the balcony. The pool was also a nice temperature and relaxing. We are looking forward to visiting this resort in the future!

We were stuck staying at Webbs since were visiting the Chautauqua Institute only for a few days. Hard to find accommodations for a family if staying less than a week. Hotel needs updated. Has the old motel smell. The only thing going for it are comfortable beds. Bathrooms are ridiculously small. Having a disabled person in our party, it was very difficult for him to maneuver. The outside balcony and stairs look like they haven't been swept in ages. Breakfast was a waste...after the first day we went out to eat. Only items offered were bagels and pastries. No cereal/milk or fruit. Very overpriced, but I feel this is due to being close to the Chautauqua Institute. While talking to someone at the Institute, they asked me where we were staying and their response was...ewww! My thoughts exactly. I don't know why it is called a resort, because it is not.

The bed was comfortable but the bathroom really needed an update. The continental breakfast was bad. Their indoor pool was too hot. The back patio had no view. Sorry but I would not recommend this place.

Room Tip: I saw other rooms with an updated bathroom. Ask for those.

Stayed their the same weekend as March 23. Everything was great!!! Had A great stay, employees nice, friendly and informative about the pool and hot tub. We understood that things can break. Would stay here again no doubt. Checked out behind dadscat and seemed everything was a problem, but she should not complain she had a free gift cert for two night stay pretty nice of Webb's to continue to give to charities and fundraisers.
