“Overwhelming experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

I have been wanting to try this restaurant but was very disappointed. The service was fantastic, the staff very knowledgeable, but the quantity served and the food itself was horrible. Prior reviews rave about the size of the portions, but if the food is mediocre to bad, the quantity is inconsequential. The customer is warned that the portions are huge as they are meant to be shared, but I am confused as to why they don't offer a normal size portion. The offerings in the "Baby" section of the menu are small enough, but there are not enough choices; an appetizer could really be enough for a dinner for one person. I ended up taking home my food and tossing it the next day.
If getting a lot of food is the issue, then this is the place to go, but if quality is important, than choose another restaurant. There are plenty of real Italian restaurants in Massapequa; don't waste your time or money here.

“Recent Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Visited Ciao Baby in Massapequa Park recently and found the quantity of food to be very generous and the service was excellent. This is primarily an Italian restaurant and they are very accommodating in making up almost any standard Italian dish. The restaurant can get noisy when most tables are occupied usually on a Fri or Sat night. Overall food quality is good especially the regular rice ball. The smaller version tends to loose a little in the flavor.

“Stay hungry before you go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Family style restaurant, we have fried calamari and it is about three to four times the seize of a regular order depends on where you go. Other than the seize of the portion, the presentation was excellent especially for a family style restaurant, we didn't order the baseball seize meat balls but I saw them being passed around at other tables... we try to save room for dessert. We have the Chilean Sea Bass, short ribs and stuffed Rigatoni for our party of four and they are just great and we could not finish. By the way, their desserts are very good and some are huge as well, we shared the tiramisu and was excellent.

“So much food, so little time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

Went there last Saturday night as a group of 10. We were there on time but the people before us were 45 minutes late. We waited over an hour to be seated. The manager did a good job of keeping us happy and offered to buy the adults drinks. He apologized repeatedly and did a good job. He comped us an appetizer, a caraffe of sangria and desserts. Very nice when it wasn't his "fault" although a case can be made to not seat a party when they are 45 minutes late on a Saturday night.

The food was outstanding! The blues berry (spelled correctly) salad was outstanding as was the rice ball appetizer. We had a number of dishes and most were outstanding. I didn't dig the pasta gambarella. Lots of pasta, not tons of sauce. The eggplant lasagna was outstanding as was the rissotto!

Then came the desserts! Nothing shy of top notch!

We left so full and with doggie bags. The food was as good day 2!

“Huge Portions, Traditional offerings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

On Wednesdays the restaurant hosts an all you can drink wine dinner with seconds & more of 10 entrees. If you go early, it is the best deal in town! Being of Ilatalian descent, Italian restaurants are ususally avoided because I tend to compare them to Grandma's cooking and no restaurant could ever top that; but this restaurant is almost as good! The fried calamari is crisp and dry( not oily). The sauces are well seasoned and the meat entrees are large enough for a whole family. This ,however, is not a family restaurant. It is loud on weekend nights with a huge bar crowd. If you arelooking for a fun night out with very good food, excellent selection of wines & cocktails and don't mind sharing it with a lot of like minded couples, you will love it!
