“I don't get it”

We spent two last nights of our holidays here to be closer to the airport. After 6 wonderful days at Hilton in Flic-en-Flac I felt like I was on a different island. The food was not good at all, we found two ginormous live cockroaches in an outdated bathroom, traces of water leak on the ceiling, rattling AC. The location is beautiful, but this is about it. I wouldn't come back.

wonderful holiday , restaurant staff could use a little more training , short of spoons and cereal bowls everyday became an issue , otherwise wonderful. water sport all on the doorstep , real advantage . all inclusive in our opinion should be All inclusive , didn't like the idea of looking for the asterix to choose for All inclusive

Room Tip: all rooms are good

Small but well equipped beach resort, didn't feel full even when it was, plenty of sunbeds although if you wanted the best ones you needed to reserve it with your towel on the way to breakfast.

Food was excellent, generally we don't like buffet restaurants as they are noisy and more like canteens but this was a very nice quiet restaurant, although you did have to go foraging for spoons which was a bit irritating, some table were laid with them and some weren't.

The Tapas Restaurant was our favourite, good food, great service, beautiful location. We were on the half board plan and there was a significant difference between the cocktails served from the all inclusive bar and the bars in the other restaurants which were excluded from the all inclusive package - the ones you pay for were vastly superior.

The free watersports were fantastic value particularly the water skiing.

It was our first visit to Mauritius and it was a very positive experience, lovely country, lovely people

Room Tip: The easterly/sea facing rooms are the best as the breeze comes from the east so it is cooler, you ha...

We had an amazing holiday and the resort was beautiful. There were a few things that could have easily have been done by the hotel in order to change my rating from a 4 to 5.

1. On arrival - the lady that did the resort explanation was not all enthusiastic & we battled to understand her as she battled to speak english fluently & to understand our questions. As front desk team - you need someone lively, enthusiactic & exciting to welcome your guests.
2. The lady then showed us to our rooms - we had particularly asked for 2 ground floor rooms next door to each other as my husband & I wanted to be close to my mum & 4 yr old daughter's room. But they gave use 2 rooms - 1 upstairs & 1 downstairs. This was rather inconvenient for us. The front desk lady said she would enquire & try & get it changed but did not bother to even get back to us with any feedback up to today. So we just ended up staying in the upstairs & downstairs room for the rest of the stay as we had already unpacked on the first night. This was not an unreasonable request & had the hotel planned better they would have been able accomodate our simple request which we had asked for 2 weeks before we arrived at the hotel. I was rather disappointed in their lack of trying to accomodate our request.
3. Spices Restaurant - we were 4 guests & the tables that they have this restaurant for 4 guests are extremely small & out fear that 4 yr would bash the glasses & fine china off the table we generally sat at a table that sat 5 ppl so we could have little more space. One evening the 5 seater table was taken so we sat at a 6 seater table - we had dished our food & was just about to sit when a waiter came to us to ask how many people we were - so i said we were 4. So she said we can't sit at 6 seater table because we are only 4 people. So i am standing there with our food in our handa - so i said to her i am sorry the 4 seater tables were too small. So she turns around & says to me - that the table is only for 6 guests & not 4. This waiter, instead of being concerned about our comfort & being hospitable to us she was more concerned about guests that did not yet arrive for dinner & there stood plenty of other tables which were EMPTY for the entire night that could have seated a party of 6 should they arrive. Eventually another waiter came & pushed two really small tables together that seats 2 each but was much bigger than the one 4 seater table. I thought it was really rude of this women to ask us to leave that table just as we were about to sit down & eat as she was more concerned about guests that were not even arrive there for supper as yet. She definately did not care about our needs & comfort at that point in time & really spoilt the mood of a perfectly good evening. I was not impressed by her lack of hospitality since that is one of Preskil's Philosiphies. Little things like the way in which staff treats your guests can go a long way in changing your 4 star rating to a 5 star.
4. Apart from the little annoyances above - we actually had an amazing time at Preskil. It's a family friendly resort with so much to do & see.
5. The food at Spices - was great & always fresh. Loved the fact that the cuisine changed everyday & it wasn't the same stuff everyday. But we had only stayed 1 week. I would suggest introducing Ice - cream to the dessert buffet every evening. Could not believe you guys do not serve ice cream in the dessert buffet. Instead of the cakes & pastries rather serve ice cream.I would also suggest serving fresh fruit juice at dinner as you do for breakfast.
6. The Catamaran cruise - was about my most favourite experience. It was well worth the price. The cruise team were phenomanal - they were energetic, welcoming, hospital & so much fun. I would suggest catering for lamb chops & lamb saugsages for the braai - they served beef & we don't eat beef.
7. Housekeeping was incredible & trustworthy - rooms were always neat & tidy & clean and we were offered fresh towels twice a day.
8. On my daughters birthday - Housekeeping decorated my daughters bed with the words "happy Birthday" made with palm tree leaves & that evening they provided us with a complimentary cake which made the day really special not just for the birthday girl but for us as well. Thank You Preskil - these personal touches is what makes you stand out from the rest. Thank You to the staff that made this happen as well.
9. The entertainment every evening was also awesome - it's great that you change it every evening.
10. The free water sports was also great & gives us lots to do at the resort without having to leave the resort.

Overall - it was an amazing experience & I will definately return someday with my family. However, Management at Preskil - i would advise you to take my comments into consideration & hope that you will address these issues with your reservations, waiters & front desk team - as it's these people that could have really made a huge difference to my stay and could changing my rating from a 4 to a 5. Strive for excellence if you want to maintain the standard of standing of from the rest.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the night entertainment, that's on the ground floor & also away from...

We spent 10 wonderful days at Preskil Beach Resort. We stayed in the Lagoon rooms, which were spacious and clean - towels were changed twice a day. We had a special needs (CP) child with us and the staff at Preskil Beach went out of there way to accomodate her. We were on the fully inclusive package and the three restaurants ensured that you are spoilt for choice - the steaks ar Charka Gill are the best, i have ever had and the Saturday barbecue at Tapas, absolutely amazing. The beach is lovely and the beach boys are quick to respond to your requests of cold drinks when needed. The 2 pools are clean and we'll maintained. Everyone from the management to the gardeners were so helpful and pleasant - the Managers Cocktail evening was a nice touch. We will definitely be back.

Everyone from start to finish were so helpful. You felt so special.
On my wife's birthday, there was a surprise birthday cake and the band played "Happy birthday"
She was embarrassed but loved it.
If there were any complaints, not worth mentioning.
Would we return YES
