This hostel was great, we only stayed for one night and had such a good time. Rooms were immaculately clean, staff really friendly - overall was brilliant. When booking we questioned the location but it is next to the subway straight to manhattan - great alternative to get good accomodation in the city rather than mediocre overpriced stuff in the city!

This is one of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed at. Nice modern decore with a large common room. They don't have an elevator and the trains nearby can be noisy. But you can't avoid stairs and noise in New York. The staff was very helpful with directions for the subway. My only complaint the water in the shower was not hot; warm at best. Great hostel.

Technically this is a hostel but you can get a hotel room there. The decor was inviting yet modern and you didn't have to go down the hall to get a shower. I even liked how they separated men from women in the sleeping quarters. Also, if you're traveling on to some other place, they have free storage space for your luggage. They give you one towel as part of the room, but if you need a blanket, you have to ask. The only problem is you have to take a subway to anything you might want to see in Manhattan, but it's not far away to the nearest stop. There was no swimming pool or fitness room, but the basement common room, which also has a kitchen, has some game tables. That was another thing that I like about the Q4, it had a kitchen so if you didn't want to eat out, you could eat in.
