“Not my favorite Marriott”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014 via mobile

The room was clean, the staff was okay. Was supposed to have breakfast there but the "breakfast man" was out that day so they had just oatmeal, plus it wasn't kept tidy. I have never stayed at the Fairfield brand of Marriott and from this experience I'll stick with the Courtyard and Residence Inn brands of Marriott.

Stayed at Fairfield Inn as a surprise for Valentines Day. My boyfriend picked the deluxe suite that had a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi added a very romantic touch to the room especially since it was in the bathroom, but there were also windows that lead to clear access to the room. The room was very simple and modern. Flat screen t.v., electronic safe, iron and ironing board. The view could have been better if there wasn't a "Sterling Studios" parking lot and a factory with large cylinders blocking the NYC skyline. Breakfast included: eggs, sausage, turkey sausage, cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt and coffee (starbucks). I really wished they offered waffles or pancakes. When we called the front desk, the receptionist was very accommodating. The fitness center was very basic, just two treadmills and a simple weight rack. Overall a very good stay. I would come again.

This is two blocks from the 39th street station. It's 5 blocks for Queensboro Bridge, so I'm not sure why Marriott decided to advertise this as Queensboro.
There was no visible sign on the outside of the hotel from the subway line or 31st street. I had to call the hotel for directions. Although the room was nice, there was an old humming all night. I don't know if this was because my room was near the elevator or if it was the heater. Okay stay, but I wouldn't stay here again. The only reason I did is that I had a reward certificate and this was one of the only cat 5 hotels in the city. Staff were nice.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. We are considered Queensboro, as the hotel is 2 blocks from the Queensboro Bridge. The hotel does have signs in compliance with the City of Long Island City, NY. Again, thank you for your feedback as we take all our guest comments seriously.

We liked:
- Price vs other NY hotels
- That finally we left the hotel
We did not like:
- Small size of the room for a family of three persons
- Awful breakfast (at least for non-Americans) consisted of different types of pastry and dough items that your body starts to refuse to take in starting from the second morning
- Average service, a good trainer for the staff, preferably from a good Asian hotel, is obviously needed
- Inconvenient location neither to use the subway nor the taxi, only one of 10 taxi drivers can find the place
- Strange Marriott arithmetics we faced receiving the confirmation of booking some nights for Marriott bonus points and some for cash, the total sum was much bigger than the result of the per night price adding, nothing became clear neither after writing an e-mail to the hotel (the answer was inadequate) nor after calling the Marriott customer support center . Everything became clear only after our arriving to the hotel.
- The only hotel in the world that refused us to store our bags during our trip from the US to Mexico and back. (We finally managed to store the suitcases approaching the guys from another shift)
We chose the hotel based on the price mostly and finally regretted it.

It's clean, it's close to NYC. They are not overly friendly, but neither are they rude ... they're just indifferent. The price is right, but you have to understand that you get what you pay for: the neighborhood is largely industrial (safe, but not much nearby). The rooms are small ... but not cluttered. If I needed to be in this area in the future, I would consider this property again.

Nothing remarkable about this hotel. It was clean enough, quiet, and an easy commute to Manhattan from LIC, but there is nothing compelling about the property or staff that will drive me to stay again.

Friends had recommended the Fairfield Inn & Suites Queensboro Bridge and so my husband and I decided to spend Christmas night there after dinner in New York City. Unfortunately, we did not have a pleasant stay. At 7:00 a.m. on December 26, the fire alarm startled us awake. After a few minutes a loud voice filled the room, telling us to disregard the alarm. We dozed back to sleep only to be awakened again about 7:15-7:20 with multiple ear-piercing alarms. This time, no announcement was made. We wondered whether we should head to the stairs (we were on the 15th floor) and decided against it. Since we were now fully awake, we showered and headed downstairs to breakfast. Big mistake!! The breakfast room was packed, there was no seating, there was no hot food, no coffee, not even any coffee cups or bowls for the dry cereal! Clearly the breakfast room attendant was swamped and unable to replenish food and other supplies. Seems the hotel management could have predicted a breakfast rush based on how many rooms had been booked, and then staffed accordingly. After we got home, we received a nice email from the hotel apologizing for the alarms and informing us we would all be compensated with 1000 reward points. That helped take the edge off the awful experience. However, the points never showed up in our account. Again, seems like a management problem. Why make the offer and then not follow through? Sadly, we have crossed this hotel off our list of places to stay when in the NYC area.
