“OK if you dont mind a lot of construction around”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

This hotel is very comfortable and a good location with just a subway stop away from Manhattan. That said, beware! It is not in a comfortable part of town. Super noisy, with major construction on 3 sides of the hotel and the trains squealing and rumbling through, all day. The night time is quieter but there is no where - literally, no where to go except to take the train to Manhattan or into Queens (in which case, you better speak good Spanish).
Hotel front desk is very very helpful and were so kind. Hotel maid mafia is the loudest bunch of cacklers I've ever heard. After a long night in Manhattan we slept in until 9am and were woken by what we thought was a fight in front of our door. My daughter got up to check what had happened and saw the cleaning crew down the hall screaming at one another but evidently not fighting, could they be deaf? I don't know. She said. we are sleeping can you keep it down? After that it was quiet but really! Finaly I have to mention breakfast is the kind of food you might find in a 7/11. Not worth the effort. I can recommend the Atlas cafe just a block away for, as they put it, "coffee that doesn't suck" and the bagels - ooh, some of the best lox I've tried - but after all it is NYC.
Truly an up and coming neighborhood with a whole crop of new, luxury apartments going up but not a neighborly place yet.

Room Tip: Recommend a high floor but elevator is very slow.

We chose this hotel based on the price, and proximity to subway stations for visiting NYC.
It is a very short walk to Queensboro Plaza, as well it's close to two other stations (walking distance). It was a quick ride across to Manhattan, and worth it for the price difference between here and Manhattan hotels. We found street parking right around the corner on 42nd and were able to park there for free (another big $$ savings).
The hotel was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. Room was small, but par for the course in NYC area.
No major complaints. Free hot breakfast was good, although the breakfast area was small (4 tables) but there was the lobby or your room as well.
Staff were helpful with directions and answering any questions.
Was a little concerned about the area, but ended up being fine - no issues. We had a room on the 6th floor facing Crescent Street and had no noise issues.

Would stay again next time I'm visiting the area.

Comfortable, homely and very convenient to travel to Manhattan everyday. Hotel staff is very welcoming and helping. Train stations are very near that provides you the best economical option to stay and enjoy your Manhattan visit.

I don't have any major complaints for this hotel other than the fact its location was a bit sketchy probably because it is a up and coming neighbourhood.. I chose it specifically because it was less than a 2 min walk to the metro station which was very convenient.. it was 10-15 min to times square.. The only other issue i had was the breakfast area was super small - 3 tables.. it was always crowded and hard to find a place to sit.. There are a few sandwich places within 2-5 min walk of the hotel..

This hotel was inexpensive and we got treat bag of snacks. Everything was clean inside and they have complimentary breakfast. Queens is a good option if you want to save money, it is only about 20 minutes ride into Manhattan. Queens is Queens, though - don't expect a Times Square type experience in terms of ambiance.

The room was fine, clean but seemed old. he bed was fine and the view of the East Side of Manhattan good enough to leave the curtins open at night, make sure you are on a higher floor. The public area where just a bit out of date and not attractive. Th breakfast room was too small for the number trying to eat and food was a bit thin. If you need to be in LIC this is a grea t location, or NY rates are too high for your budget his is near transportaton to the City but and not the fault of the hotel no places to eat nerrby.

Room Tip: Upper stories on the City side

Very close to a major subway stop, which is great, and located amidst million dollar condo developments, though the entrance to this hotel is about as sad sack as any you will find. Rooms are tiny and, at $160 a night, we didn't think it was any great value. The breakfast is a depressing affair.
