“Excellent customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2011

Our stay at the Queensboro Hotel was great. The subway is of walking distance. The staff was great, especially Mr. Gonzalez. He made us feel very welcome; made us feel at home. He was very helpful, and had a positive attitude all the time we were there. Mr. Gonzalez had a great sense of humor, and very helpful when we needed directions, or other information.

Room Tip: The rate was great. If you don't want to spend too much money on Taxi fees, this place is perfe...

November 2011: This hotel was clean, quiet, and had friendly staff, good breakfast & free parking. It was in a safe residential Queens neighborhood of Long Island City. Our king size bed was very comfortable with good pillows. The microwave and small refrigerator were nice extras. We did a Priceline bid and it was very affordable.
I would recommend staying here if you don't mind the 12-minute walk to the subway. Once on the subway, it was only 5 stops from Times Square, pretty centrally located.

Room Tip: We had a room at the end of a hallway on the 3rd floor - top floor.

My girlfriend and I stayed in Manhatten in Yotel for 3 nights and then Queensboro for 2 and i must say we regretted not spending all 5 nights in Queensboro. The staff were so friendly and very helpful here and i will definately recommend it to all my friends, we are seasoned travellers and have stayed in many varying types of hotels and hostels on our travels but its good to find little gems like this one which gives you great value for money and superfriendly staff which was a real winner. Great Hotel and lovely people .

Stayed here for a concert at Yankee Stadium. Overall, a very good experience. Well priced for the city, room was spacious and all ammenities worked well. Room itself was great, with comfortable beds, microwave and fridge. Also had about 15 spaces of free parking. Try to get there early, as they will probably fill up as the day goes by. Not an expert on Queens, but it seemed to be in a decent area.

Only 1 mile away from the 7 Train Subway. About a 15 minute ride to Times Square, and other Manhattan stations. Was VERY tough to hail a cab, no one would stop!!

Stayed here for about 1 week on a trip to NY.

Pros:
-Check in was efficient and friendly (I believe his name was Luis).
-The room was a decent size and clean. The bathroom was clean and towels were replenished every day.
-There is a fridge in the room which is very helpful to store drinks.
-short cab ride away from la guardia. take a yellow taxi, they will charge half of what the others charge you.

Cons:
-They advertise free wifi but the wifi never worked at all.
-Breakfast buffet was very disappointing. They advertise waffles and bacon....you make your own waffle...and it tastes very bland...and it ends at 9am! However, there is an excellent diner right across the street from the subway station called Pete's Diner & Grill. Its open 24/7 and serves breakfast all day. Delicious food, friendly service, & very affordable. I suggest skipping the breakfast and going there...
-Service: with the exception of the the gentleman working overnight, service was mediocre. I would often see the front desk agents away from the desk and eating. At one point, I even saw the front office manager eating a sandwhich at the desk as she interacted with guests.
-we need to print our boarding passes and they asked us to use the computer in the lobby and email it to them. When i asked for the email, they said "oh, we cannot print for you. can't you just check in at the airport?"

Overall, you get what you pay for. It is great if you're travelling on a budget as it is a convenient distance to the city and clean. Service is not spectacular, but it is not awful either. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: -taxi driver didn't know where the hotel was. i had to use my phone gps and give directions. -n...

My wife and I stayed at Queensboro Hotel in Long Island Queens the end Of October.
The Hotel is 15 minutes easy walk in a safe neighbourhood from the Subway stop, and 6 stops to Time Square and all the sights and attractions..
The Hotel rooms are small but very comfortable. Who spends their days in New York in a hotel room, so was perfect for us.. The Bathroom was clean and cleaned daily with fresh towels every day as was the room cleaned each day.
The Hotel Reception Staff were was helpful and answered all questions with a smile. They are a credit to the hotel.
Luis on Reception should get a special mention as he was great!!!! Luis a big hi and thanks from Dave and Sharon!!!!!
The Breakfast was a bonus to fill up on for a day in New York - with cereals, toast, waffles, and sausages, eggs, bacon or omlettes for hot food yogurts, tea, coffee and juices we thought was ok....
We would recommend friends stay there and would stay their again if we ever returned to New York.

Just got back from 4 nights at the Queensboro. It is a 10 min walk from the train but it's a VERY safe neighborhood--even at 2am when I returned the hotel it was nothing but people walking their dogs. It's a bit of a pain to roll your bags from the station after a long day -- but it's really not bad.

Upon check-in with Micki (I believe that was her name) I felt welcome and comfortable. The room was larger than I expected and the bed was not the most luxurious bed but it wasn't bad either. The bathroom was pretty spotless and the air worked fine but didn't really need it. The breakfast was VERY hearty and it does get crowded but the staff work really hard to keep everything stocked. There was eggs, waffles, cereal and other breads and stuff.

It is a short trip to Grand Central or Times Sq and the nice thing is once you get on the 7 train at times square (to return to the hotel) you are guaranteed a seat because the train ends and starts at times square.

I literally only slept in the hotel and spent the other 14 hours a day walking in the city. It's a really great value and I would have felt the same even at twice what I paid.

The staff is great and the hotel is a great bargain.

My first trip to NYC and I will be back to the Queensboro.
