We spent 10 days at Z New York hotel in Long Island. The view was just as amazing as we hoped it would be!.
The transportation to and from Manhattan worked well, we experienced a few times that the old official Z hotel limo couldn´t hold everyone of us waiting to be picked up, but there was always another car dispatched quickly to pick up the rest of us waiting. At more than one occasion we were "upgraded" to a modern stretch limo :)

We got a room on 8th floor. Amazing view. The room is small but is well designed and decorated. We had everything we needed.

-Fair prices for the mini bar
-Basic breakfast

The negative experiences were

-Very loud music from the top bar thursday-saturday. We were told that the hotel worked on the problem with the sound so we hope it has improved since July 2012.
-Our mini bar didn´t get restocked after the first refill, which we thought was a bit odd.
-The A/C didn´t work proberly in our room, and died completely on our last night.
-The staff at the reception. They were all very polite and friendly BUT not very efficient. I made 2 complaints about the A/C(it was very hot in our room, 30 degrees celsius outside warms up a small room pretty effectively) but nothing ever happened. The last night before our departure we didn´t sleep at all because of the heat in the room as the A/C completely stopped working.

The only real problem was the A/C not working proberly. Without this issue we would love to stay at the hotel again.

This hotel is only two years old. The beds are extremely comfortable. The rooms are small as is all rooms in NYC but big enough. We stayed on the 9th floor and the view was great. Shuttle service was very convenient and always on time - and free. The internet signal was spotty and mostly could not get a good signal in the room. But service was free. I read other reviews about the food being bad. I thought the food was good. The drink specials were also good. Price for food was very reasonable. All in all a very good hotel on the up and up.

Hotel Z is a great place to stay if you're looking for a good experience in NYC. The rooms are really nice and the view is phenomenal; especially at night. I could have stared out the window all night. Parking is free is you get a spot out on the street. The hotel also provides a free bus to downtown which is great. The only bad experience with the hotel is the resteraunt downstairs. A simple hamburger is $10 and that doesn't include fries or a drink. It didn't taste very good either. Also because of the huge windows that provide the beautiful view, everything in your room gets very dusty quick. But overall a great hotel for your money. You probably wouldn't find a better view in New York.

Fun place to stay at! 10mins from manhattan. Great, friendly staff especially Renita and Alex. Great rooftop view as well. My only complaint would be the lounge, menu was not extensive and the food sucks. Other than that its a nice lil get away from home!
