“Nice Location...Paper Thin Walls”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

The location was perfect and the view of Manhattan was very nice. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, but the guests were extremely loud. We were awoken many times during the night due to the fact that the walls and door seemed to be no thicker than paper.

My partner and I stayed here from Christmas day 2013 until NYE. This place was perfect for what we were looking for - a clean, good sized room for a low price but with easy access to the New York city centre.

The hotel was a quick 15-20 min subway ride & walk from Times Square and the neighbourhood was quiet with a few shops and a nice bar next door (Dutch Kills Centraal). The hotel offers half price drinks and appetizers from 5.30-7.30 every day and their cocktails were delicious. The reception staff and maintenance guys were really kind and along with the beautiful Christmas decorations we were in a very festive mood! The best part of our stay was the fantastic view of the Manhattan skyline from our bedroom window which was on the 8th floor. Quite a nice way to wake up in the morning!

The only slight negative is the walls are fairly thin but we had pretty quiet neighbours so wasn't a problem for us. The bed and pillows were fantastic so had a really great nights sleep!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor for great views of Manhattan

Myself and my girlfriend have just come back from 6 nights here over Xmas and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a decent priced hotel from which to explore New York.

The location is obviously outside Manhattan on Long Island but the hotel is 3 blocks from a subway stop with frequent trains and easy access into the main sites of the city (have a look on Google Maps for an idea about travel times - it took less than 20 mins to reach Times Square).

Room was a decent size, clean and tidy and the staff were great in our dealings with them.

Not a lot going on in the neighbourhood but felt safe and there is a nice bar just down the road which I would recommend if you want a quick drink away from the bustle of Manhattan.

If you want to be right in the heart of NYC this is not the place for you but after booking our trip at the last minute and struggling to find anywhere to stay for a decent price in Manhattan we're actually really pleased to have found this place.

I was lucky enough to stay at the 4 points in long island city this week. what a surprise- never thought this place would be this nice. their food was better than i ever expected and the staff went out of their way to make you happy- a winner all around. my compliments to chef mike- we look forward to his dinners upon our return. one more thing, the view from the 11th floor is absolutely breathtaking- don't miss out on this one.

First the good part: it's close to New York and clearly a business hotel - perfect for a single business traveler (and not for a family). Just cross the Queensboro Bridge and you're there in Long Island city. Though, finding a cab and a driver wiling to drop you in New York to this location can be quite a challenge - I requested at least 10 before I found one! The check-in and service are prompt and on-time, rooms are small, but reasonably well done for a single business traveler. Now the bad part: the thin walls can prove to be quite a distraction, for you would wake up in the middle of the night thinking someone's trying to open your room's door, each time someone next door enters the room or comes out. Too much of noise filtering in didn't let me sleep during my stay at the hotel. My advice: Choose this property, if you are a single business traveler, keen on an affordable property on the outskirts of New York that gives you quick and easy access to NYC and use the property mainly as a place to spend your night - there are better places to have affordable meals and shopping in New York. The rooms are clean, amenities hygienic and staff soft spoken. I had absolutely no problem at the property, apart from the noise of the doors on either side of my room opening and closing in the night. Overall, a decent property to stay.

Room Tip: Specifically ask for a room with minimum sound hindrance during night time.

This is becoming my go-to hotel for trips to NYC. Fast friendly service, convenient location near two subway stations with quick access to midtown, nice little restaurant, and clean, but small, rooms. The surrounding neighborhood seems pretty safe too and seems no problem to walk to the subway even at night. Great value and nice place to stay while in the city.
