“very good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

The only down side to this hotel is the cramped breakfast facilities but we all coped. We saved around 25% price wise against other similar hotels nearer the centre of manhatten. Mastering the subway maps was quite a hassle to start with & it took 15mns to reach the centre. The subway stop is only a couple of mins walk from the Hotel & the area felt safe. To get a taxi took 5mins & the Hotel got it for us. There isn't a restaurant but a simple take away very near & room service for Chinese take-aways if wanting to eat in. Quality of room was very good with big comfortable bed & great views over the city (rear room)

Room Tip: ask for one at the rear

Very close to Manhattan, just two subway stops away from the city! We were here 3 nights and got around really easily on the subway. The hotel is just about 2 blocks from subway station and it is a safe walk to and from hotel, there are police on this street, too, just an added peace of mind in case you are skeptical. There are always people walking to and from subway, and inexpensive businesses open nearby for a quick bite to eat before turning in for the night. I recommend this hotel if you want to see NYC but do not want to pay NYC prices. It is easy to get around on the subway and there is a MTA subway app you can get for your phone, where you can type in where you'd like to go and it tells you how to get there.
Staff was friendly and helpful, and rooms were clean, and we had a peaceful nights sleep, not at all noisy. Rug seems a bit dirty, so bring some slippers or sandals, but besides that, great place to stay for the price!
There is a free breakfast and wifi, and although there is no shuttle to and from airport, it is close to La Guardia, call hotel when you arrive and they can arrange a car service for you; it is for a fee but it will not be as much as a taxi might be, or the airport shuttle. We learned this after paying $50 for a five mile ride! But well, ya live and ya learn.

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor, 10th floor, and it was peaceful. Maybe a top floor, higher above the st...

I found this hotel after checking out of Country Inn and Suites ,Long Island City due to plaster falling off ceiling and mild on carpet from AC. It has a great location and was reasonable priced. We saved $540 dollars and it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was not great but much the same as most hotels. Did get real fruit and yogurt and very salty scrambled eggs.We had a king room with a view of Manhattan.Staff were excellent. Location is a block from 21st subway and 2 blocks from Queensboro subway. We ate eggs at a deli next store. The deli in Queensboro subway is great but not open weekends. We bought salads and took them to the US Open. Make great smoothies. Parking is readily available on the street and its free and safe.We stayed 8 nights and had no complaints except for salty eggs. Had a great room, comfortable bed and great service. I will definitely stay here again when in NY. Easy to see NY from here.

Room Tip: Get a Manhattan view . We were on 9th floor

Average hotel. I though it was in a bit of a dodgy area. It is not very accessible via the Metro system, and thus you need to use a cab to get to and from Manhattan. This is an expensive option. I also did not appreciate the fact that I had to use plastic crockery and cutlery everywhere; i.e. polystyrene cups for coffee in the rooms and plastic plates in the breakfast area. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful though.

Rooms were small but nice. Breakfast included but very poor. Location is one block from F subway and one stop from manhattan. It was relatively cheapest hotel with nice rooms not too far from manhattan

For the money, this hotel was, at best, OK. Nothing horrific happened while we stayed, but our room was cramped and had a distinct smell of dirty feet, which did not dissipate in the 2 days we stayed there. When we checked in, the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful; however, when we checked out the (different) staff seemed less than enthused to answer some pretty basic questions. The breakfast was your basic continental fare, with a small dining area. One positive was the hotel's proximity to the N and 7 trains. Overall we were left with a generally negative impression though. I'd look elsewhere before staying here again.

So I stayed at this hotel for a short trip to NYC to get a visa for travel. Things went weird from the get go. Not enough people working the front desk, had to wait in line to check in and once that was finally taken care of the girl at the front desk had given me the keys to a room someone else was already staying in (the key worked, it was very awkward...) There was no bell boy so you have to take your bags up yourself on the cart (which normally I wouldn't have minded if I hadn't brought so much for my travels) and the cart is hard to maneuver. After getting settled everything went ok, the staff was really friendly and helpful but the maids never actually cleaned my room (it was only a 2 night stay so no big deal). They came in once and made the bed. Nothing else was done after that. There is a laundry bag in the closet, but the maids never took the laundry, I was told that there is a laundromat two blocks away. Makes the laundry bag misleading. The breakfast was fine, but the space could get really crowded really quickly. Breakfast is free, but my suggestion is you get there before 8am. The rooms are nice, dark but nice. The bed is comfortable and they have a mini fridge for you and a thermostat you can control (which is nice in the fall and winter). Overall my stay here was awkwardly pleasant.

Room Tip: Call ahead and ask about what's available, sometimes people check out early and it wont be liste...
