“Very good price for NYC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

It is a good hotel (not luxury) located in a not nice neighborhood. Comparable quality hotel in Times Square area costs more than double the night.
Subway is just one and a half block away and you are a couple of stations away from Central Park.
We stayed here for a week, coming late at nite some times and never had any security concerns.
I haven't seen any restaurants nearby. If we dined in the hotel we order something to be delivered. You can use the breakfast room for your dinner which we really appreciated.
Free breakfast is similar to other hotels on the same category and crowds come and go during the morning; just be patient.
Surely will come here again on my next trip to New York.

This Hotel is in a great location. This Hotel is close to subway and is two stops from 5th Ave and Central Park. This Hotels location makes it a great place to stay to see all the sights in NYC without spending a fortune for Hotels in Manhattan or Central Park. The rooms are very nice and come with LCD TV and wireless internet. Nice decor and comfy beds. I've been in NYC a few times and would return to this Hotel based on location and price and amenities included. If your looking for a five star Hotel than this will not be for you but, if you are looking for a nice room with a great location than this is the best choice in NYC.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the river have a view of the Queensboro Bridge and the Empire state. Rooms facing the f...

This hotel is just throwing distance from Manhattan, on the other side of the 59th St bridge. If you are subway savvy it is REALLY simple to get there and if you are not it is still simple. Also taxis can get you there. The staff went out of there way to accommodate the guests requests and this was during the Hurricane Sandy week. I was also impressed with the quality of the FREE breakfast..good bagels and even scrambled eggs!. The room was clean and if you go ask for the west side of the building cos you might get a nice view of the NY skyline. THe price is about half of what you would pay in the actual Manhattan city hotels

Room Tip: The west side of the building and one of the upper floors will give you a good view.

On a weed-end getaway recently, we stayed at this hotel in New York. All in all, it was clean, the service was good and breakfast was also ok, though served in a very small dining area. I would have recommended this hotel if it wasn't for our experience after check out.
We left in a bit of a hurry and forgot a great pair of size eleven motorcycle boots and a camera usb/charger wire. We got in touch with the front desk a few hours after our departure and explained our situation. They asked us to call after the cleaning staff had done the room, which we did, to no avail. Nothing had been found !? We are very disappointed to realise that persons with keys to every room would be this dishonest. We will not be returning to this establiment.

We went there to escape the lack of electricity and hot water from the Hurricane Sandy. Though online room rates were @ $129 for the basic room, we were charged $183 plus taxes for these two nights. When we called to book for Thursday we were told that the price was to be @ $230 plus taxes due to special circumstances, but no further explanation was offered. They don't even charge this much on the weekends according to their site! They're obviously taking advantage of people during this trying time. It's disgusting that they would gouge people during this horrible time and I plan on never staying here again, and will be sure to recommend other places than this to my friends and others who visit NYC.

Room Tip: Make sure to call for rates and confirm them, as apparently they change the rates on a whim and/or d...
