“A bed to rest in”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

If you're in New York, you don't need a fancy hotel unless you're a recluse. You need a comfy bed and a private bathroom in a good location that doesn't cost too much. The Ramada Inn in Long Island City provides precisely those things. It is affordable, located a 5 minute walk from two subway stations that run the Q which covers all areas of Downtown and below in Manhattan, as well as a decent amount of Brooklyn. The staff are lovely, they helped us out a lot when we were stuck during Hurricane Sandy on one of our three trips to this hotel. There is a free breakfast (bagels, coffee and donuts), a gym I've never used, and free fast WiFi.

Room Tip: Manhattan skyline from floor 6 up, on the rear of the hotel

If you are looking for a clean, convenient place to stay, close to midtown Manhattan (one subway stop from Queenboro Plaza to Lexington and 59th), and you don't want to spend a lot -- this is a good choice. Fast, efficient check-in and check-out -- even though it was fully booked when we went. It's very quiet. The double room was small but had everything needed. A couple of downsides: 1. It's on a street with a lot of auto parts places and warehouses (although there's a cluster of other hotels just a block or two away) and 2. If the hotel is full, the free breakfast will be kind of a zoo. Hard to find space at the tables, and the poor waiter is zipping back and forth to the kitchen constantly to keep the breakfast bar from running out of items. Nobody bussed their tables after they left, and so it got pretty messy, pretty quickly. These are minor things, and on the whole I felt it was a good choice for a place to stay in Queens.

Breakfastroom was to small for so many people.
Water for the toilett-flush was constantly running.
The wash basin was leaking
The toilet seat was damaged.

Hotel is acceptable for the price. Located in quite place, but close to Subway stations. Room size, bathroom & amenities are good. However, lobby & restaurant are very small & not in good quality. Breakfast is really pathetic & not worthy at all. It comprised just pieces of bread & couple of packets of jam & butter. You have to wait 5-10 minutes for the only available lift.

Room Tip: Just value for money. But don't book with breakfast

Quite near to the metro stations from where we could reach Times Square within 10-15 mins. Staff were helpful. The bathroom sink took some time to drain which was the only discomfort.

the structure is rather poor. Breakfast is an odyssey, there are few places and the food is non good. The room cleanliness is acceptable, when they done but a day they didn't: when i ask at least for some towels, they answered there was until the next morning!
