This is the 4th and best hotel I've stayed in in the Long Island City area in the last 4 months. Check-in was painless. My room wasn't ready (I was early), but there was prompt secure storage of my luggage. No matter who was on duty at reception, there was always a pleasant smile and a "have a nice day/evening" as I went out. The breakfast choice was fine and the room was kept very clean by staff during the breakfast service. Computer access was OK except that the old-fashioned roller-ball computer mice are a problem without mouse pads. The rooms were comfortable (walls a little thin, perhaps), and kept clean and tidy. All of the housekeeping staff were good, some were outstanding and I certainly noticed the difference. I used the exercise room daily and I was happy with that. One suggestion...provide towels in the exercise room and a working water device. I had some minor quibbles: there were some television reception issues during my stay (but I don't go to New York to watch television, so it wasn't a biggie); I was suprised that there was no folder containing information about the hotel, facilities, television channels, location of nearest subway lines etc. This would be a cheap, easy thing to make up and would only need to be 4-5 photocopied pages. I appreciated the on-going free coffee in the lobby area. Finally, when I asked to see a suite so that I could book for later in the year, there was someone at reception within a minute to show me around -great service. A super experience and at a great rate. It certainly punches above its weight.
