“The place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

I am a regular traveler to NYC and a frequent guest at The Verve. During a recent trip I made my travel reservations too late and ended up staying in another hotel in Long Island CIty. That trip made me appreciate the Verve even more, where I am staying for my current trip. Rather than dwell on the shortcomings of the other hotel let me just list again why I love The Verve:

#1 - Customer Service - the employees actually care and take care of their guests. Example, I have never once been told to come back later because I had an early flight and arrived at the hotel before 3PM on checkin day.

#2 - Clean!! The rooms, the lobby, the eating area -everything is always spotless

#3 - Roomy!! The rooms are huge - especially when compared to Manhattan hotels

#4 - Amenities. Free internet, a deck, a garage, a smoking 'lounge' in the garage for bad weather, continental breakfast, 24 X 7 hot coffee and cocoa

#5 - The continental breakfast is a real breakfast, and the eating area has plenty of tables.

#6 - Price. The Verve is as nice as any hotel I have ever stayed at in Manhattan (nicer than most) but costs half the $$$ as Manhattan hotels.

Hotel is situated close to subway (around 30 mins from JFK Airport) and good price to compare with another hotels close to Manhattan. Breakfast was free, the choice was like yougurts, waffle etc. Staff was kind and helpful. Room and bathroom were clean. Nice thing is that you found coffee and tea machine downstairs, plus computers with internet. The toiletries were good. Free internet was included. We had room close to ice machine maker which was pretty annoying during the night. After second night we both strange bites from some insect. Good hotel but I was expecting little bit more for hotel with so great reviews.

Clean, quiet, comfy bed, free breakfast, free wifi, short walk to 2 different subway lines; what's not to like? This is a good hotel. It becomes a great hotel when you consider the price and proximity to Manhattan.

Had a great stay here, everything was good but the best part was the Crabtree and Evelyn Toiletries which I was very surprised by. I saw the same travel soap at the C&E store and it was $6.95! Not many hotels have branded toiletries so that was lovely. Don't like their take a copy of your passport policy but for all the other good things, I'm willing to put up with it. I agree with one other person's suggestion that it would have been good if they had an info sheet about what exit to come out from if you take the different subway stations near it. We too got a bit lost one time when we came out on the wrong exit..had it been dark and we could not see the hotel from a distance I think we would have panicked a little. Overall a great and affordable place to stay when in New York!

Myself and the hubbster stayed at this hotel in December just before Christmas. The hotel is clean and the staff are so cheerful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The price for this hotel is amazing. You are five mins from three subway lines that take you right into Manhattan. You are staying in a lovely hotel at the fraction of the price.

Dont hesitate, book this hotel today for your trip to NYC, you will not be disappointed.

Mark and Julie England!

8 friends from Germany in New York, 5 nights at the Verve, this hotel deserves an A +! Nice, big an clean rooms, good breakfast, easy walk to the subway stations Queens Plaza and Queensboro Bridge. Very helpful staff, Tom is a great manager, showed us the patio for a relaxed breakfast in the sun and had always an advice for us, such as the Studio Square in nearby Astoria. The neighborhood is quite calm, because some of the buildings are abandoned.
