“Great hotel, over and over again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2011

I've stayed in this hotel 4 times in the last 2 years and will keep coming back for the fact that this hotel has the whole package. It 's a decent hotel in any possible way, constantly thinking about ways how to keep it's guests happy. Not only through obvious things like a good free breakfast and (sometimes shaky) wi-fi, but also for instance free use of washing machine.

Rooms are clean and fairly big for NYC criteria. Vending machines and ice machines in the hallways.

The hotel is a 15 minute subway ride away from Times Sq. (3 different subway stations around the corner) and is situated in an industrial area, which still offers some decent restaurants if you walk couple of blocks north towards Astoria. Parking your car in the street is free. Movie theatre is a couple of blocks away.

All in all a good value for a nice hotel just outside Manhattan.

This is a nice hotel with comfortable roms and kind staff, there are 2subway stations within 300 meters, from where the train takes to downtown Manhattan in less than 20 minutes.
The rooms are clean, with comfortable big bed.
The only negative things are that the air condition is a little bit noisy and the choice for breakfast is not too big, you have to repeat the same warm food day by day, except that you can prepare your own waffel at the restaurant.
When arriving from JFK airport, you should take the airtrain to Jamaica station, from where the subway E takes you directly to the hotel, the whole journey takes less than 1 hour.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing Manhattan (you ask for it at time of reservation)

The Verve staff is excellent and accommodating. Tom shows up at breakfast to answer any questions guests may have on subways, tourist attractions and any other items. We stayed in a King suite. Internet at time would cut out. No nearby restaurants but delivery is available.

I booked the Verve because of the No1 position on Trpadvisor, and this time I can not in anyway fault it. For less than £100 a night in a city like New York, and with this class you can't go wrong.
The staff, the location from the station, ease of getting around, nothing was wrong.
So try it I amsure you will write a great review to.

Room Tip: Top floors good views of New York sky line.

We stayed at this hotel for my sons wedding, the staff was amazing the hotel was beautiful, and this revue is not long enough to tell the entire story, but they were wonderful, accommodating and went above and beyond at every request. In short they just wanted to make our stay and the memory wonderful and they proved that over and over, my only problem is trying to find something to send the staff as a thank you that compares to the service we received. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in the NYC area...it was close to the subway and they had an amazing contact to great transportation. I did not have one bad experience the entire weekend. The rooms were clean and the service was perfect.

Great hotel and staff with parking. Only fault is run down local area but not its location which is perfect for Manhattan. Big rooms some with view of skyline.

We stayed at the Verve Hotel for 4 nights in September. The hotel is very well located to the subway station and it’s about a 15 minute subway ride to get into Manhattan. There were 2 subway stations close to the hotel, Queens Plaza just under a 10 minute walk and 39th Avenue, 5 minutes around the corner.

When you first arrive into the area via the subway make sure you have a map of how to walk to the hotel, we didn’t and had to ask passers by. It’s easier the first time you arrive to find the hotel from the 39th Avenue station, the subway passes right by the hotel (which you can’t hear from the hotel) so you can see which direction you need to walk in to get to the Verve.

We were walking from the subway to the hotel after dark (around 10:30pm) and we felt safe, there were also females walking around the area alone.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they even gave us a business card with their telephone number to call them at anytime if we needed any help - thanks Justin!

The hotel itself was very clean as was our room, the room was bigger than we thought with a king size bed, flat screen tv, air conditioning unit, bathroom with a hairdryer, in room safe, fridge and free reliable, fast wi-fi. The hotel was perfectly safe and comfortable and much better value than the hotels in Manhattan.

The included breakfast was plenty to get us started for the day, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage patties, cereal, juice, toast etc. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water are available all day & night to help yourself.

We would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if we ever re-visit New York.
