We really enjoyed our stay while visiting NYC. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. No complaints whatsoever.
There is a shuttle bus to take you most places in Long Island City too. We used it on numerous occasions to take us to the train station and to a local restaurant. It just can't be beat.

came here for me and my wife's honeymoon and it was a fantastic choice. everything was great from the staff to the hotel as a whole. we had a penthouse room on the top floor and our view was amazing. you can see the whole manhattan skyline from our balcony and the queens boro bridge was stunning at night time. and lastly was the awesome rooftop restaurant/lounge with breathtaking views great Asian fusion inspired food and great music and dancing to end the night right. i highly recommend this hotel

We came in on a Friday. As soon as we drove up, we could tell it was an oasis from NYC. Definitely do not drive through the city to get there, go around. YES! there is parking!! There is lemon ice water waiting for you, and pleasant staff. Our room was a gorgeous Orange. We got upgraded to a suite, probably because it was Friday.
We got a shuttle to the train, were in the city pretty quickly, but on the weekends, dont forget the trains dont run as regularly. That night when we came back, we got a cab for $12!! and got there in 15 min from Broadway.
After the show, we got home and went to the club for free- 80,90s night -like smooth R&B, think Faith Evans. Went straight to my room, got changed, and danced the night away under the stars. By 2am, we were done, went to sleep while the party raged. Great nite! P.s. The A/C works really well.
So here you can save money from a NYC hotel, easy to get into the city, and if you drink in your room before you go upstairs, its a win win.

Room Tip: If you will Not be using the club(meaning you are going to bed early) request a bottom floor. We wer...

I stayed at this hotel on Saturday July 21st of this year. My friend had his birthday party at their rooftop which is called Penthouse808. Check in was not until 3pm, but luckily they had rooms when we came in at 2 so we got to the room early. We settled in the room and went up to dinner when it opened at 5pm. I had the Ravel Roll which is by far the best sushi roll I ever had made with shrimp. I would also recommend their flatbread pizza the steak flatbread was out of this world. The lounge opened up at 10pm and my friends, and I celebrated with great variety of music, and drinks on their rooftop. By far the best lounge with a great view of the east river, and manhattan skyline that i have ever seen. I would definitely reccomend this hotel if you're looking to party with family and friends, while having a great panoramic view of the city.

Room Tip: Penthouse room had a great view of the city with a balcony.

i'm not sure where the other reviewers of this hotel stayed...because this is not a 4 star hotel. it is a 4 star motel. i chose the ravel based on the reviews here and on hotels.com and we were completely disgusted and disappointed with our experience.

walking up to the ravel on tuesday july 10th we noticed it looked like a motel from the outside with a good paint job. upon entering you feel better about what you saw outside because the lobby is pretty, but looks can be deceiving... you walk down the hall to the elevator and this is where everything begins to unravel. hmmm....word play...unravel...the ravel...interesting...but i digress.

all of the floors are uneven and the floors that are tiled (without carpet) are cracked. the elevators need paint jobs and the #1 was missing on the elevator. the walls in the rooms are dirty and need to be painted. we felt like we were in unkempt buildings in the slums. that was day #1. when we woke up to get dressed on morning #2 at 7am there was a big bug in the bathroom! ( (we have pictures of all of this) we put a glass over it so management would be able to see it & we called the front desk and asked them to make sure the room was cleaned by the time we got back and the bug removed. the girl who answered told us to stop by the desk on the way out. we did. she assured us the room would be cleaned by the time we got back. i asked to speak with a manager and she said, "there's no manager in today." i said ok but please leave a note for a manager to call me when one does come in.

we arrived back at the room at 6:30pm on day #2. imagine our surprise when we got upstairs and our room door was wide open because the cleaning man was just getting started on cleaning our room! mind you we left that morning at 8:15am. why are you guys just cleaning our room when we left at 8:15am, made sure we told you we were leaving and you guaranteed the room would be cleaned and ready???

we went back downstairs and they apologized for the inconvenience and offered us a suite. we wanted to talk to a manager but again...there was no manager on site. we accepted the offer for the suite...but the joke was on us...again.

we entered the room and the sink was directly to the left just past the closet...literally six steps into the room. behind that was the toilet and the shower stall. they each had doors but they did not go up to the ceiling. the bathtub was free standing and opposite the toilet and the shower stall. there was no door or walls separating the bathroom from the bed and the tv, the living area. suffice it to say, when you or your significant other used the bathroom you can hear and smell whatever is taking place & that is unfortunate as i'm sure you can imagine. your only escape is the balcony. and when you or your significant other take a shower you can't hear the tv. you have to turn the tv all the way up to drown out the sound of the shower. i'm not sure what architect, designer, or hotel owner thought this design was a good idea or even sexy but it is an epic fail! a bathroom should be enclosed!

when we checked out around 230am on thursday july 12th i made sure to tell the desk to have a manager call me. klester, the gm, called me on friday july 13th. i called him back on saturday july 14th and i haven't heard from him again.

if you don't care about cleanliness or the upkeep (elevators, hallways, etc) of the hotel and if you don't mind staying at a motel then this is the place for you. if you have higher standards avoid here at all costs!
