“Great beach bar & restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Been to Maliblue many times for drinks, appetizers or lunch. The bar scene is friendly with good service and drink specials. The staff is very accommodating and make customer service a priority. Lunch on the comfortable outdoor deck was delicious. Can't wait till next summer to go back!

“Very Poor Rating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Do Not Honor Contracts: group parties/catering contracts. MALIBLUE CLAM AND OYSTER BAR is cheap, to say it nicely. Cheap VERY CHEAP on what they ultimately do provide to serve your quests and make no excuses about it other than rude ones when asked. Cost? you will pay top dollar which we don't mind except we do expect to Not be barely served any food or drinks all day or anything unless asked. Open Premium/Top Shelf Bar added to your contract for your quests means all drinks ordered will be poured with barely Any liquor added into the drink at all; plates, napkins, and utensils had to be asked for and when quests went to the buffet table to get their own they were told... "not to touch that". The entrance gate, bartenders, and servers were unaware a party was even coming in so when our quests arrived there was absolute confusion we heard from everyone. We were assured that would be covered when we asked. However, make no mistake as the owners are well-seasoned professionals who own and run many establishments and it always trickles down from the top - so what's up guys? You'd rather make a one-time quick buck instead of generously earning a Good Reputation on Long Island? The water, atmosphere, music and vibe are yes very nice there which attracts many but that's not all we contracted for that day. We have Never seen a party be so scantily done and the presentation itself has a lot to be corrected, never mind desired. They should be embarrassed to hand you a bill for this but they will. This we felt it was important enough to put on record for all to be informed since we left feeling badly about it all. As well-travelled business owners ourselves we are also heavily experienced (2000p large event coordination from NYC to Montalk) in backend operations as well as the frontend in every facet of this industry, up to 100 on staff. It's unbelievable that they just don't care so in all fairness then others should obviously know about it before you lay out hard-earned money here. When they finally serve food they pull it so fast and tell you "no one was eating". OMG now I've heard it all. What seafood cocktail hour have you ever seen that no one was eating at? what cocktail hour have you never seen anyone eating at? People were still coming in late from out-of-town and we had to tell them to push some food to those tables Now. Unprofessional rude insulting managers are on staff so much so I'm surprised they keep a job at all, but that's the MaliBlue so that's why they're working there with hot cold attitudes; sweet young inexperienced staff with no proper direction to them while pushed onto the floors in this manner, inappropriately told to do what they are told to do... same with the buffet, it was out and gone so fast if you missed it well that's just too bad. Not enough time to give a full detailed review yet we will Never book an event there again. They have sadly lost All future Contracts with us.

“Great music but limited menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We waited an hour to sit outside on a beautiful Friday night. Excellent service with an attentive waiter! We ordered the steamers for an appetizer and they are excellent! Also ordered sushi which was very good. The drink special was a mohito which was in a small glass with too much ice. For dinner we ordered the lobster rolls and a crab pasta special. There were 2 lobster rolls which is a good serving but the bread was too thick and should have been toasted. I just ate the lobster salad which was enjoyable but the lobster chunks could have been bigger. The king crab was removed from the shell and placed on top of the pasta. My husband was disappointed. I will go back but I will go for appetizers and sushi only. Also to hear the band!

“Limited Menu, Long Wait for Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Nice location near the beach. We went on an overcast Friday evening, so the live music was cancelled. They do have tables outside by the band. We ate inside. Boring decor. We found the menu to be limited, but then again it is really a seafood restaurant. They do offer salads with grilled chicken or shrimp, and there are a few steak options. The crab cakes were very good, and they serve excellent fried calamari. The service was somewhat slow, considering it was not crowded. The server came over right away, but it took a while for the appetizers to come out, and an even longer time between the appetizers and the entrees. Reservations are recommended. We might go back.

“Enjoyable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We arrived late for our reservation time but were seated promptly. The service was somewhat slow but was done with a smile. Most of the food was very good. The linguine with white clam sauce was dry-too much pasta? But everything else was really very good. The raw bar food was exceptional! Great place to people watch.
