“Quality > Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

The pizza at Second to None (the restaurants real name) is the best in the area and that's a fact. The best is the Chicken, Bacon, Ranch pizza - one slice is enough to fill me up (and I'm a big guy). The service is hit and miss.... There is one waitress who is the nicest person in the world and another who is very rude and doesn't want to be bothered (there is at least one other that is attentive and friendly). The owner is very nice and is always working hard. Basically, hard working owner who produces great food! I will say this: they make a superb eggplant parm! Better than homemade!!!

Pizza and garlic knots are fantastic! Nothing pretentious or overpriced just great food with lots of options.

“Not so friendly service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Full disclosure: This place closed at 9 pm and we got there at 8:30 looking to sit down and share a pizza. The chairs were already up on most of the tables so we wandered in a little confused.

A group at the door who looked like they worked there encouraged us to take a table and take down the chairs, so we did. As we did so, someone from behind the counter angrily chastised us for doing so. We explained that the people at the front had told us it was okay, but he continued to be rude to us. We asked if they had already closed, at which point he said they closed at 9pm. We said we were happy to leave, but at that point the waitress came by and encouraged us to stay, setting the table for us. We were going to stay but the guy continued to hover over us and make discouraging remarks, insinuating we were being too slow and encouraging us to be quicker. It was all very strange and clear that he did not want us there. We politely told them we were going to leave, at which point he got even more angry. A friend we were with said something snappy back to the guy and it escalated to him shouting at us as we walked out.

In a few words: weird and unpleasant. Don't go anywhere near closing time. Or if you're from out of town.

“True New York Pizza to Die For!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

This is the best place in town to go for pizza. True authentic NY pizza. Only a couple of dollars per slice - and they are HUGE!!! All kinds of varieties to choose from so you are not stuck with plain cheese or pepperoni. Awesome place, great pizza, fountain sodas, and friendly service!!
