“we were let down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

I was very excited to try this place after reading all the reviews. We started with pork balls that were absolutely delicious, so we were excited about what was to come.
We paid $42 for a steak that had an aweful amt of fat on it and didn't think the price tag was appropriate.
We paid $24 for scallops, and only THREE came on the plate.
We have had far better product for the same, if not less price other places.

“Hands Down Best Steak I Have Ever Had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

My wife and I dined here after making reservations while booking a stay at the Barton Hill Hotel.

Pros:
- Intimate atmosphere
- Excellent food and presentation
- Mature and attentive staff

(if you are a steak lover, the Delmonico is the best cut of steak I have ever had anywhere and I have eaten at quiet a few of the Morton's and Ruth Chris' and the best steakhouses in Texas. Perfectly cooked and unreal seasoning)

Cons:
- only one. It is a tight setting so seating is cramped. We specifically requested a table for two in a nice setting either with a view or in a quiet corner when making our reservations well in advance. We were led upon our arrival to the very back table at the entrance to the kitchen. I realize someone had to sit there and they were full that evening but not heeding our request had us regretting settling for the table we were offered. It was very cold and the traffic unbearable. No problem getting service at the table though as everyone that worked there walked by at least a dozen times during our short meal.

Didn't kill our night...just something to keep in mind if you can avoid it.

Will return on our next visit for sure.

“Wonderful food, nice location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

We loved this place. They did a fantastic job of being created with the dishes... many other places try to do that - and shouldn't! We were a bit underdressed and had our children with us; we weren't quite expecting such a nice atmosphere. But, they treated us well anyway. Not a place I would take children who don't behave well, though.

“WOW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

We were staying at The Giacomo Hotel in Niagara Falls, and the concierge recommended Carmelo's. It is just about a 10 minute drive along the river from NF.

We were expecting a nice average restaurant, but we got a world class dining experience. It is quaint, comfortable, with very friendly servers. There is no pretense.

The food was memorable! We've never had such a good clam dish. The beet salad, fluke and pork chop were outstanding.
