“Fantastic Choice, you can't do better for 2x the price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2006

I've spent three days at this inn and have been consistently impressed with the cleanliness and comfort. This year alone I've stayed in at least a dozen hotels at many different price ranges and I would consider this one of the best, despite also being one of the cheapest hotels I've stayed in this year at $65/night.

The hotel propery is a little tricky to find, I drove by it twice before catching the small dead-end street where it is located (it isn't visible from the main road - Route 7). Driving up to the hotel reveals it to be set back from the road in a wooded setting, though you can hear the sound of I-87 not far away on one side. The Inn has a very 'homey' appearance on the outside, styled not unlike a modern suburban house. The hotel is relatively small and anywhere you park will give you a fairly short walk to any room. The exterior is very modern in appearance and the property is very clean and well landscaped.

Check-in went smoothly, the front desk area, lobby, and continental breakfast nook have a residential feel. The hotel interior corridors were nicely appointed and very clean.

The rooms (I stayed in 3 different ones) are small but very well laid out so that you don't miss the extra space. The bathrooms were all sparkling clean, as were the carpets and the bedding. My rooms had desks, a desk chair, a small wardrobe, and a microwave and fridge. Extra seating was provided by a window seat with a moveable back cushion.

I found the beds to be very comfortable, the comforters felt like a higher quality then I usually find, as did the blanket. The beds have a pillowy soft top, and the pillows seemed very nice, though a little too big for my taste.

The bathroom had a bent-outward shower curtain to provide extra room and a heat lamp. The floor has a nice stone-textured look.

The continental breakfast was very simple. English muffins, bagles, small fruit pastries, and mini-muffins (that's all). There is also regular, decaf, french vanilla coffee, and Sunny Delight. Cream cheese, margarine, and jelly are provided for toppings. Simple as it was, the breakfast area was clean and always well stocked. The coffee was pretty good, better tasting then most in-room coffee I've had.

Every time I interacted with the front desk they were courtious, helpful, and polite.

Across the street (Route 7) is a Target that has a Starbucks in it, a Friendlies resturant, and an Italian resturant. All of them are within walking distance and very close, provided you are willing to make the mad dash across all 5 lanes of Route 7 (no crosswalks).

One other reviewer mentioned asking for a room on the wooded side. I didn't notice any significant difference in noise, the highway can be loud, but I didn't noice it in any of our rooms, even the ones closer to the road (back of building). The view is nicer facing the woods (front and south side of building) though.

Negatives:
There are always a few of these, no place is flawless. The doors don't seem to insulate noise well. We never heard anyone else, and found it very quite during our stay, however I could hear my wife and daughter talking in normal voices in the room as I approached it from the hall. If there were noisey guests nearby, or if you wanted exceptional privacy this could be a problem.

There are no sheer curtains on the windows. The parking is immediately outside the building, so you feel as if you have no privacy unless the blackout curtains are shut (on the bottom floor at least).

One bathroom door had difficulty latching shut and required extra effort. The counters are small and the compressed air flush toilet is somewhat loud.

Overall I have been exceptionally pleased with this hotel and would enthusiastically recommend it to others.

  • Liked — Clean and comfortable, as good as the best I've seen
  • Disliked — Well for the price they had to cut back somewhere, the breakfast foods were spartan.
  • Tips/Secrets — Starbucks in the Target across the street

The hotel room was clean and the amenities were fine for a budget motel. Good place for a night, easily accessible from the highway. Shortcomings: no elevators and a mandatory $1 safe fee.

I notice some people have to say good about this place but I would not recommend anything good for this place. I had problem from time I called for reservation till checkout. Staff is not helpful at all. Very loud noise when air plane fly over the roof of your room. Very hard to get in and out of place. Room service not good, bad bathroom and very noisy toilet. If I have free stay still do not like to stay here.

This is a nice motel for the money rooms are very clean and the window seat is unique and great for TV watching. Backside rooms overlooking the woods are the most quiet. Free local paper and USA Today.

Inexpensive ($51 AAA), quiet, feels safe. Note: free breakfast is basic and you'll probably be bringing it to your room since the only seating is a couch set in the lobby. Lots of nearby chain restaurants (plus an Applebee's discount with your room key). Only drawbacks are the noisy high pressure toilet, all-flourescent lighting, and mysterious $1 fee (mandatory?) for the in-room safe that I didn't use.

Have stayed here for past 3 years they have window seats and give a great place to "watch the world go by" and TV. Very clean business oriented clientele- ok free breakfast- well kept.

Regularly stay here on business. No frills hotel. Clean, good service, no nonsense. Good for a quick overnight when traveling.
