“Incredible Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

We stumbled across Wildwaters Lodge on recent trip to Uganda. One of the greatest travel finds to date. A few reflections... The location is a living postcard. Simply breathtaking from every view and at every time of the day. We enjoyed French press coffee in the mornings looking out over the roaring Nile, watched monkeys and fish eagles in the trees and dined under the stars along the rapids. The food was outstanding. Fresh, local and beyond expectation. Could not have been more pleased and thanked the Chef in person. As far as activities, you can pick your poison. My wife slept, wrote and read. I went white water rafting on the Nile. Crazy, but so much fun. We both took a guided tour of the local village which was great as well. Beyond all of this, the staff was amazing. Truly amazing. We look forward to returning someday soon.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the rapids are amazing. They are loud due to the waters, but you are lulled to sle...

From the moment you arrive at the dock to take the rowboat to the island you are made welcome. The managers are professional, the staff take delight in your pleasure. There is much to enjoy even if you do not make sport with the waters. The splendour of the surroundings, the jungle canopy meeting the roaring rapids as the Nile heads north from Lake Victoria. The excellent cuisine (I had tender succulent steak with fine wine from South Africa). An expert aromatherapy treatment. A stroll in the grounds, following the walkways between the lodges. The spacious interiors. The bathtubs on the verandahs. The sun rising over the river's early morning mist. This place is well worth the trip.

After reading all the reviews for this place, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect... But trust me, reviews and photos cannot fully prepare you for the experience. The location is absolutely breath-taking, service is superb and the cottages are marvelous. This is probably the BEST place to relax around Kampala. I cannot wait to go back...

Room Tip: The cottages that are facing the Hypoxia rapid have absolutely splendid views, but the thunderous no...

We visited this place for a day trip from Kampala, it is a beautiful place , the staff is professional, courteous and all hands to assist you to ensure a wonderful trip.
The resort is made keeping in mind the requirements and ensuring that the nature is not tampered with. The Mangers were present to receive us at the deck and offered a warm welcome which certainly kick started our day with a wow.
Just a bit pricey though $15 for entry then $10 for pool, tends to reduce the movement on the island , making it more exclusive, Rooms rates are too steep $245 per person.
Still this place is a must visit if you are in Uganda.

Last August I visited this facility which is on the Nile river.I enjoyed the food and the staff were very friendly. The surrounding is awesome while getting there we used a canoe and this make the whole idea an exciting experience. The sound of the water flowing down all throughout the night and day is a wonderful experience too.At least its the best noise that I heard in life.

Room Tip: Those facing the magnificent falls.

I know previous reviewers have commented on the annoyance of people visiting for the day, but...having been working in a orphanage, my friend and I went for a day trip to Wildwaters. It was a wonderful, relaxing, much needed break. The view from the swimming pool is incredible and although the rapids on the Nile seems loud at first it quickly becomes a relaxing background sound. The natural form swimming pool fronting on to the rapids is just stunning and the staff were extremely attentive and welcoming. We could never have afforded to stay, but we were shown round one of the lodges and they are stunning! I loved the little walkways wooden bridges to get everywhere, its like a cool little treetop world that is just so far removed from everyday life in Uganda. There's a fantastic area just off the restaurant set up with a traditional old English library / reading room, where you can see the incredible view but enjoy the cool shade and the lovely smell of wood everywhere. Food was excellent and it was a much needed break. In the time I was in in Uganda it was my only day "off" and was a much needed and welcomed day of time out to relax and recharge, It is truly like another world, but do get out and see the real Uganda too!

Room Tip: We only looked round as day visitors, but I would request one overlooking the rapids and "wildw...

I enjoyed my stay at wild waters lodge ... We booked the Lodge for three nights through Cycads Safaris. I was really impressed by the fact that we had to board a boat which would transport us to the lodge... i enjoyed the view of the magnificent River nile rapid waters...the water birds and especially the food at the lodge....simply tasty and the staff at Wild waters lodge made us feel at home with their undivided attention and friendliness towards us....

However one thing i enjoyed the most was the White water rafting experience we had with ADRIFT , we joined other tourists and formed teams, we rafted the whole day hitting and dodging strong river waves....it was so THRILLING....
