Staying at NRE as part of an African overland trip and it is an amazing campsite that has given us an awesome 3 nights. The bar is cheap, lively and serves very generous portions of food which are delicious. The staff are always smiling and extremely helpful and nothing has been too much trouble.
We got to try the first Wake boarding trip which was fantastic fun. We got to wake skate and paddle surf. 6 people for 2 hours allowed us 2 turns in the water each and lots of patience from Jaque and Kirk when some of our party could not get up quickly, again nothing was too much trouble for either.
A full day of rafting which was awesome. Highly recommend the 'croc' which is an inflatable 2 person raft which you go in with a guide. It allows you to do whatever you please not having to take up to 7 other people in the raft into account. My guide, Latif, a champion kayaker was amazing and gave me the adrenalin rush I was seeking. He had my safety at the forefront of everything we did but was amazing at getting me back into the raft and insisting on doing 97% of the paddling between rapids allowing me to chill-axe, sunbathe and swim in between. We capsized in 7 of the 8 rapids so the 'croc' is not for the scared rafter but did I mention it was amazing! Currently having been in Africa for 6 weeks, this is in my top 2 days so far!
Stay at the NRE campsite and do as many activities as possible. 2 - 3 days is a must if you are in Jinja and want to take advantage of the Nile.
