Mirror Lake Inn is a uniquely shaped historical building on Lake Placid. The interior is decorated in a lodge theme. When we checked in there were serving tea. People were sitting by fireplaces, in the windowed room over looking the lake. Families were amused by the bear and animal heads that were mounted on the walls by the butterfly collections. The lobby area displayed its awards, which were interesting to me along with information on the town with its Olympic history and continued support of atheletes.Cheery, family and couple friendly. A short pleasant walk to town consisting of shoppes and restaurants that surrounded a frozen Lake Placid with dog sledding, if you so chose. Everyone was happy and chatting to each other in town. While we dined not in Mirror Lake Inn, the menu looked classicly good. We did have breakfast included with room. Service was great. View of lake seating. Omlette chef, hot buffet, fruit, lox, juice...if we wanted something that we didn't see, I'd ask and it was brought immediately. After breakfast, We did use the resorts pool and hot tub and enjoyed a couples massage on Sunday. In the locker rooms was male only/female only hot tubs, steam rooms and sauna. It was very clean and service was excellent. The massueses were professional and well trained. Our hotel room was clean, had a mini fridge and a view of the lake. The shower was hot and and big enough for two..rainwater head pressure excellent. Bed was dreamy!! I got a little lost walking from the room to the main building, although completely covered by walkways inside. Parking was complimentary with the room. I would love to go back to Mirror Lake Inn and Lake Placid and spend more time. Another spa day and I would make a huge effort to go down the bobsled run!
