“Happy stay at, Comfort inn lake placid.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

we stayed on jan 20th 2014, on a week day
with tax for 1 night Balcony door to out side, room with 2 queen beds, free Breakfast was =$88.99 was a great price for lake placid.
soon as we walk in to our room, it was clean, there was no smell of dogs, so happy for that.
clean white sheets, pillows are not your average size little small, but they are fluffy.
Good amenities, little fridge, microwave, coffee pot, big shower head.
Pool area was great, a big area, when we went swimming there was no one in there so that was nice, the pool is 3 feet at one side and the other side is 9 feet, there is a rope with buoys to let you know you are going in the deep part.
the best part was the Breakfast, a big pretty area, table are spaced out, the Food, there was so much food!!!.. breakfast 7am till 10am
check in time 2pm check out time noon 12pm .... small down side, was the room next to us was loud for a bit. but you get that in every hotel...

Room Tip: all rooms have balcony doors, pool rooms have balcony doors rite in the pool area, the other side...

We stayed in room 210 . The two queen beds were very comfortable the linens and comforter good quality. The hotel is simply appointed. It could use some refreshing . The TV's should be upgraded to flat screens. Good for short stays . Plenty of towels provided and the hotel front desk and service is excellent.
The buffet is average , good for families . The grocery store is less jan 2 minutes away and Rite Aide is across the street . This is step story hotel with no elevator . So make sure to book early if you want ground floor.

Stayed here last night; room was average for a Comfort Inn. I was surprised this property still had old tube televisions in the rooms. The cable was weak as we had to play with it to get reception. The room really could use more electrical outlets as most were used. I always carry a 3 way plug so we have more usable outlets so I did have to use it last night. The beds were about average but they still had those old, yellow comforters. Breakfast was good.
This place is really a decent stay in Lake Placid, just needs some updating with the tv, bedding, and electrical; otherwise, worth it!

We treated our kids and grandkids to an overnight at this hotel. Comfort Inn accommodated us with 3 rooms side by side. They even had adjoining room for us to help with 4 grandchildren. All of our rooms had sliding glass doors going to the pool area. It was all gated so kids could not get past the gate. The hotel was very comfortable and kid friendly. The rooms were clean and the staff was very accommodating. Very impressed!!!!

We had a room on the inside of the atrium, which happened to have a private function going on, thankfully they went quiet at 22.30pm. We didn't like not having natural light, but for one night it was ok, the complimentary breakfast was ok too. The hotel is situated in a great place for a decent meal either, trace living down to the Main Street is the only thing to do.

This review forms part of a Cosmos tour we took to view the autumn foliage in New England.
Our second "Atrium Style" hotel on this tour and sad to say no improvement ! Only one night but how do people stand being in a room with no natural light and ventilation for more ? Air-con so noisy and old ! so just sweat it out for the night I guess......bed shower o/k though and near to Lake Placid if you use shuttle or of course our fantastic tour driver ! Just one other thing that did not bother us but if you don't like steps check where your room is ! if your at the top there are around 80 wooden outdoor ones to climb !!

I booked hotel on wrong date and realized right away, so I called owner Daniel. I told him it was an error, I meant to book for tomorrow not today, I am still at home today. I asked if he could change the booking for tomorrow. He told me that tomorrow is fully booked and he refused to cancel my booking for today. To sum it up, I was not happy with the experience on the phone with him. I lost $318 for an error, but if I'm asked to go back to the hotel, I will say no. NEVER DID AND NEVER WILL.

Thank you for your review on The Comfort Inn on Lake Placid. I want to take this time to apologize for your bad booking experience. I completely understand your frustration but would also like to mention that there is no one at this establishment by the name of Daniel. We hope that this experience hasn't spoiled your opinion of all Comfort Inns and that you will stay with us in the future.
Sincerely,
Comfort Inn Management
