“A Gem In The High Peaks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

Although this hotel is not on the main street in Lake Placid, it is a short drive from all that Lake Placid has to offer. The rooms were clean and pleasantly decorated. They really added some nice decorating touches in the hotel to make you feel as though you are truly on vacation.

The employees were welcoming and they have several different options for room selections. We stayed there several times and have always enjoyed the stay.

The beds were comfortable and the hotel was relatively quiet. AIR Conditioning was really good. The windows open up a bit. There is a very small pool area with hot tubs and an exercise room.

Great place to stay.

We stayed here with the kids in connecting rooms - clean, modern and comfortable. Many of the are hotels are old and in need of renovation - yet stil charge a hefty price for what they offer. At the Courtyard, you will get value for your dollar here. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The hotel is not "in town", you will have to drive to the downtown area. There are good breakfast options downtown too, especially the Crepe shop. Worked well for our family.

Room Tip: Call hotel ahead of time to request connecting rooms, if needed.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Room was comfortable and staff was efficient especially one desk clerk who went out of his way to be helpful. The breakfast is OK, but you have to pay for it and it is not much better than what you can get for free at some competing hotels. My recommendation would be to skip it and go downtown to eat at The Breakfast Club. The only drawback for this property is its location which is on the outskirts on town. You need to use a car to get to the business section of Lake Placid (or walk quite a long distance).

Room was small and cramped. Buffet breakfast bordered on inedible. While staff was friendly, no amount of friendliness could improve the deficiencies in the facility.
The exercise room was again adequate, with old machines that did function.
I don't think that the rate requested for the stay was reasonable given the tiny room. The room was clean, however, and this was Lake Placid in August.
It is leagues better than the Crowne Plaza on Main Street, where I stayed previously. It is off the beaten path, which may be desireable to many.
I think that the hotel is acceptable. Sorry I don't agree with other guest's platitudes

We stayed one night at this hotel and was very impressed from the moment we walked in with the decor of the lobby and common area and the friendliness of the staff. Very proactive and couldn't do enough for us. There is a full bar and an eating area there where we ate. Again the staff there was so accommodating! A lovely area to read or go outside to the chairs and a private area. The room was also excellent and well designed. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and we enjoyed a very good night's sleep! Good size flat screen TV and internet was fast. It was also nice to have two windows that actually opened to have fresh air!! The location we found very good as it is just off the main street of Lake Placid so wasn't as busy as one located on the main street, and the trolley came by on the half hour just outside the hotel if you wanted to go downtown. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Lake Placid!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the room at the back facing the trees.

Located right outside of the town of Lake Placid, this is one of the newer properties in the area. It was very tastefully decorated, modern and most importantly very clean. The front desk staff was very pleasant and whatever staff you met in the hall was just as so. The rooms were modern and comfortable. I liked the lobby area and found a private corner to catch up on some work emails late at night. Only complaint was that the internet was sometimes slow, so working those emails was frustrating at times. The next time in Lake Placid, I will stay here.
