We visit Lake Placid every year around Christmas (for the last 15 years or so), and I don’t normally write restaurants reviews but after such a horrible experience I decided to make an exception.
We were a group of nine people, five adults and four kids. We ordered two appetizers: the octopus salad which required extensive effort to chew, and the shrimps cocktail that was partially frozen, and that’s was just the beginning.
We ordered four main courses: The fillet mignon was ordered medium rare but served well done (also was listed as 6oz, but no more than 4oz were served). The Salmon was too dry, the veal chop was a bit cold inside, and the highlight, the lamb chops, smelled really bad (the meat was literally spoiled and was returned to the kitchen). In other words, all main courses were somewhere between ‘below average’ and ‘not eatable’.
To balance the review, the Kid’s menus and the side orders were all fine and the service was fair, but I would recommend staying away from this place; there are many better dining options in this pretty village.
