Our Lake Placid visits would not be complete without dining at the Paradox. Our evening starts with a glass of wine, sitting at the bar and watching Red (the owner) preparing food for his guests. This is particulariy entertaining for us as we enjoy visiting with Red in addition to observing his creativity with food. Not only do the dinners taste absolutely the best of anywhere we've eaten in Lake Placid, but the presentation is amazing. Red serves a variety of fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. Any of the meat, fish or poultry we have had during our dinners at the Paradox, are truly delicious. Save room for dessert - oh my goodness. The Adirondack atmosphere and dining space is very intimate. Part of the intimate experience for us is getting to talk with Nan (Red's wife) about the food choices for the evening and what we have done during our daytime adventures. We have both noticed how well they treat their young helpers. We've also noticed that Red prepares a dinner for the dining room staff and themselves near the end of their evening. This really impressed us. We always stay at the Paradox as well. The breakfast is included and always really, really good. Enjoy!
