“RELIABLY HIGH QUALITY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

We discovered Caffe Rustica a few years ago and have eaten there every year since, without a single disappointment. This visit we've been there twice, first with our daughter and son-in-law and later in the week just the two of us. Shrimp with risotto in lemon cream sauce, gnocchi with wild boar ragu, pizza, lasagne; all outstanding along with delicious desserts and pleasant service in a relaxing atmosphere.

“Worth it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

This charming small place is not in the center of Lake Placid, but is in the unlikely setting of a strip mall not far, so could be easily missed. The menu (so I am told) changes periodically, but if every meal was as tasty as the ones we enjoyed, I would look forward to new choices. Meals are a la carte, but portions certainly ample and they get a gold star for presentation. Our wait staff was attentive and by no means were we at all rushed. Because this is a cozy place (e.g. not large!), a reservation is advisable. For me, the only downside is that their wines offered by the glass are limited. In fact, only one Chardonnay was available, and to be frank, that tasted more like a Sauvignon Blanc than a Chardonnay.

“Always a treat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Our go-to special occasion place in LP. Good food and wine, and Elaine is the best. Hidden gem in a supermarket plaza.

“Not your Mothers Favorite Italian Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

Located in the Price Chopper Plaza Mall, this cozy restaurant has a unique menu that does not only include the same old dinner choices. Sausage with brocolli rabe tomatoes and olive oil over orchieitte was delicious. Wild boar over gnocci was seasoned perfectly and tender. Salads included items such as hearts of palm were very good and large. They have an extensive wine list and their glass of wine was very generous. Several types of pizza are also available. A good family place also. Reservations are a must weekends and holiday weeks. We will definitely return next year. Don't miss it..Mangia

“Lovely Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014 via mobile

Today I went with my mother and my son to lunch at Caffe Rustica. I try to take Mom there at least one time per trip. As usual we had a great time and the food was delicious as always. This was the first time my son was with us. Mom had a pizza with cheese, chicken and mushrooms and she really enjoyed that. Bill enjoyed his soup followed by the French Dip. And I loved the BLT with avocado that is one of Kevin's specialties. It is always such a treat to go to Caffe Rustica and I'm already looking forward to my next visit later in the year!!!
