“Organic & Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012 via mobile

My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of wonderful. The food was delicious.
The presentation and freshness of the food was excellent. The table next to us, however waited a long time for their food and the kitchen was out of a few items. If the staff can work out the details and get things moving more smoothly, they will have a winner. Most of the items that I looked at were organic. The beef pasture fed and chicken free range. Not much salt added to the food for seasoning, but I assume that is to provide a healthier meal. My ten year old loved the mini burgers, then ordered the same thing at a different restaurant and couldn't eat it. We will try this place again on our next visit. Recommended!

“Wednesday, family vacation lunch (6 people)”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012 via mobile

Appetizers - average. Artichoke and spinach was ok. Pork wings - poor. Quesedia - very good. Service - slow. Atmosphere - excellent. Very, very clean. Black and blue burgher - was well done, I asked for medium. Turkey - outstanding. Eggplant - average. Pub crawler - average. Dolce burgher was - average. Waitress - could have cared less.....

In our opinion, does not deserve the rating of 5th in Lake Placid! We have enjoyed other places far better for less money.

“Walked in, waited, walked out.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

Sometimes I wonder how people can manage a restaurant? We walked up to the hostess area to speak with a woman. She was unable to tell us if we could put our name on the wait list and had to ask another worker. He then said, "We're so busy. it will be at least 25 minutes. I will write your name down and I WILL find a seat for you at the bar." I thought that was a strange promise since the bar was full. But anyways, we walked over to the bar and found one seat along the wall. We bellied up. Next to us sat a woman with two children, about 3 years old, each taking up a bar stool. At that point the bartender was putting on, "THE CARTOON NETWORK CHANNEL!" This is at 6:45 p.m. He asked the kids if this was ok? Seriously? You have customers who want a drink and are waiting to be seated and we're watching cartoons? This is when we walked out. Unfortunately, according to other reviews, we are missing out on some good food. But until the managers train their employees on how to properly run a restaurant, we won't be going back.

“Outstanding menu matched by tremendous service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Gem of a restaurant located on Saranac Avenue in Lake Placid. The dinner menu is surprisingly extensive with large portions, wine pairings and awesome specials. The chowder is rich, creamy and thick and a staple on the menu. Order the cup as a bowl is very large. The salads are fresh with a wide selection of dressings. For entrees we had a BBQ sandwich (tasty with an overflowing bowl of fries) and the duck (large and cooked to perfection) - both were tasty and the plates were well presented.

There's live music on Thursday or Friday evenings and off the street parking.

Our server was pleasant and professional.

And, there wasn't even a piece of birch bark in sight !

“Surprise Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

We just stopped in one evening at this restaurant and were very pleased that we did! The menu had some different selections. Two of us had a shrimp special, one had salmon and another Turkey Pot Pie. Everything was delicious. No complaints. Service was excellent. All had an enjoyable meal.
