My husband and I snowshoed the blue Lakeside Trail. The trail itself was very well marked once we got to it - it is a bit of a distance from the parking area - keep going until you get to the big sign, then turn left. It is lovely by the lake, easy hiking, and fun!!!
I love these trails because it always seems like no one else is ever out there. Good for hiking, snowshoeing, etc. The longest loop around is only about 1.5 miles, so it's not too much for kids. Good for dogs too (even though the local leash law applies here, most people let their dogs run free).

If you enjoy trailrunning this is a great location. Be sure to grab a map from the sign-box though because there are some confusing intersections without signs. The trails are even but with just enough rocks and roots to challenge a trailrunner. Awesome views of the lake along the way. Unfortunately I think it gets overlooked by the busy forest rangers because it is sometimes littered with garbage which is sad. So bring a small trashbag and do a good deed or two along your run.
I really like these trails, especially the views of the lake on the west side. In the summer months you can swim at a view spots off the trails. Also great for snowshoeing in the winter.
