“Had everything we needed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

We needed comfortable beds, a warm room, a hot shower, a clean room, a refrigerator, walking distance to numerous restaurants, ample parking, free wifi, easy after-midnight checkin, good advice from the front desk on where to go, and helpful front office, and got all that! Breakfast within 5 minute walk at Sourdough Bakery one morning, HoJo the next morning, were all excellent. We went to watch our son compete in aerial ski jumping, and everything was within 15 minute drive.

The room was very clean and comfortable no amenities but reasonably close to the village and extremely close to a fe very good restaurants. There was also a free bus which went by the hotel about every 1/2 hour during the day and up till about 9:30 pm. We chose an excellent weekend to go it was Thanksgiving in Canada .There was a fesrtival at the Olympic Ski Hill called falling leaves. There wasBBQ,Brew and Blues. We alos were able to watch some ski jumping. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would like to go back next fall but we would try to find a hotel int the village.

Room Tip: rooms at the back are quieter

I stayed four nights for my foliage trip and was very pleased. The room was clean and well service each day, the place and surroundings are quiet, the owners friendly and helpful. It's close to downtown and, if you don't want to have to go too far for breakfast (or that early morning cup of coffee), both McDonald's and Howard Johnson's -- one of only two HoJo restaurants left in the USA -- are within walking distance. If you enjoy a nice country walk, the Peninsula Trails are right up a drive next to HoJo, and for a change of pace from Lake Placid, you're right on the road to Saranac Lake without having to go through downtown LP. As someone who doesn't like to gorge myself at dinner, I also appreciate having a refrigerator in the room so I can save my leftovers.

I stay for one night and the room was very comfy. The front desk attendant was pleasant and the rooms were very clean. Nice big comfy king bed was the icing on the cake. Check in and check out was a breeze and the parking was good.

This was a nice enough place for an overnight. Very neat and clean but simple. Tip: take your own alarm clock, hair dryer, and travel coffee pot. The office has coffee but doesn't open til 9. The owner was quite friendly and the price was good.

I stayed one night in the Town and Country in August. This hotel so closely resembles others in the area that nobody should be surprised what they are getting for the money. It was clean, relatively comfortable and overall well kept. The owner/manager was very friendly. Be aware that the office/front desk closes overnight which is something I was not accustomed to and caused me a bit of trouble when trying to locate a friends room on our departure morning (although I should have made sure I had their room number the night before, so partially my fault). I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip. One tip, make sure you get the price in writing if you're a walk-up. Our price changed several times during our "negotiation" but we were overall happy with the outcome.

Just had a great weekend stay in Lake Placid- March 15th & 16th. The Town and Country Motel staff were extremely courteous, knowledgeable about the area. The motel room was kept very clean and tidy. Great location on road between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake- within walking distance of downtown and Main Street.
