“Nice place, nice view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

This recently renovated hotel is a very good place in Lake Placid. The view on Mirror lake are amazing. Each room has his own balcony and it's very pleasant with the nice view on the lake and the main street. This hotel is a good base for exploring the area. the room are large and confortable and quiet. There is a pool and spa. I would like having breakfast in the hotel not crossing the street!

Room Tip: The secon floor.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Its part of the high Peaks hotel, but right across the street. If you come early before check in time, you must go over to the High Peaks to check in, otherwise there is someone in the lobby with an IPad, that has all your information, and will check you in that way. The Lake House does not have a front desk, so your pretty much on your own. It has very easy access with parking, and walking in and out. We loved the fact that its small with no elevator (3 floors), with three entrances to enter or leave from the parking lot. The lower level floors also have stairs to come and go through the front. Everything is easy. They have coffee in the morning in the lobby and snacks throughout the day.

We had a king room on the lower level and were very pleased. The room was spacious with big windows facing the lake. They have a nice outdoor pool and paddle boats, kayaks for your use. Mirror lake is so pretty, with amazing views from our room.

We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The King rooms are on the lower level. 2 Doubles on the 3rd floor. King rooms open out to grass wi...

My wife and I enjoyed a quiet two-night stay over the Labor Day weekend. Most of my comments echo those of other reviews -- the room was freshly renovated, clean and spacious. The location is fantastic and the view is excellent. We were pleasantly surprised with the room since we had initially booked under the Lakeview Motor Inn. A great deal by Lake Placid standards -- averaged $140/night. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay here again on our next visit!

We are a couple who stayed one evening in August 2014. I liked the funky Adirondack style and the view of the lake from our room was fabulous. Location is central and makes for easy walking to the shops and dining. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms have excellent views.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our son and was happy with the choice. I'm not sure which I was happier with - the location or the views from the room. Main street is literally across the street with all the restaurants and shops and it is also just across the street from the lake. The pool was immaculate. Sitting by the pool you have the fabulous mountain and lake views. It is truly a breathtaking view. The rooms are large but I wasn't so much a fan of the decor - painted dark gray which makes them very dark with red scratchy wool blankets over the comforters. The bathrooms are very small but clean and that's all that really matters. No in-room safes, but the one thing I really feel they need to address is putting a light on the path from the lakeside into the motel and an overhead light by the doorway. At night it was pitch dark on the path and no light above the door was a bit surprising.
None of that was a deal breaker for me, I still enjoyed staying at Lake House for everything else it has to offer. Views, location, comfort, cleanliness and an extremely nice and helpful staff.

We had a very positive experience at the Lake House. With 2 adults and 2 children, we still found the room to be spacious enough, with the exception of the bathroom. It was pretty small, but adequate. The renovations are nice. The pool and hot tub were being worked on during our stay but we were able to go over to the High Peaks Resort and use all of the amenities. The view from our room was gorgeous. The free use of the kayaks was a great bonus! The huge "family room" setting was fantastic for playing board games in the evenings. I would highly recommend staying here as it's a great hotel and the price can't be beat considering the location!

Stayed one night, late check in - early check out. Quick impressions: recently updated property with hip/retro adirondak vibe; open concept, clean rooms (even the closet has no doors); comfy bed; great rate ($98); super friendly staff; private balcony with beautiful view of Mirror Lake and it's steps away from town/restaurants. Really, what more can you ask for? Would have given 5 stars if the room had been a tiny bit cleaner - floor could've been vacuumed a bit more thoroughly. Still a great place.
