This hotel was one of the best bargains-ever! The rooms were very spacious and newly remodeled. We had a balcony that overlooked the lake. The lobby had a laid-back lodge vibe with a massive fire place, a now opened bar and large windows overlooking the lake. We played games (supplied by the Lake House) at night in this very pleasant room (also played air hockey on a downstairs table). Location was amazing-steps to Main St. shops and restaurants. The greatest part was they allow access to "sister property", High Peaks Resort. This allowed us access to a pool right on the water, swimming in the lake and use of kayaks (as well as a nice workout room and other pools). We booked early and were out by July 2nd, so only paid $100/night for a room. There is also a small, but nice pool and a large jacuzzi right in the Lake House.
I would prefer to stay at the Lake House then at High Peaks for the price. Do know that the bathroom is nice, but small (if that matters to you), and the office is closed at night, so you need to go across the street if you need help.
