If you dare you can ride the bobsled, or just hike up the mountain and take in the view as the sleds fly by. Very cool to see in the Winter when the World bobsled teams are here!

You probably only want to spend $80 a minute a few times in your life, but this one was worth it. The men and women who work there are excellent, funny, personable and really add to the overall experience. I thought it was hilarious when we were told by the check-in person to, "Wait for your pager to go off and then walk outside and get in the black SUV." I kept saying, "And they were never heard from again." LOL. With your $80, you get pictures, pins, certificates, t-shirts and a really, really fun ride down the actual bobsled run (from a lower starting position) that Olympians have trained on for years. Great for kids and adults (read restrictions online), basically a once in a lifetime experience for anyone in your family. A definite must if you are going to be in the Lake Placid area.

We visited the Bobsled and Luge Complex this Thanksgiving weekend. We decided to go on the bobsled ride, and it was well worth it! Though it is expensive for just 48 seconds, the ride is a life living experience. They also provide free pictures and a T-shirt as part of the ride package. If your in the area, take the ride. You will not be disappointed! You spend 85% of the ride almost on the ceiling of the bobsled tube.

What an unexpectedly awesome experience! The "museum" as you enter the building is a little bare but the big bonus here is doing a bobsled right. High cost, but totally worth it!
