We are from Mauritius. The 6 of us spent a week at Pointe Venus Hotel in Rodrigues (Family holiday). The service at this Hotel is very poor. We could not get swimming pool towels on a daily basis as they were never available, as for the rooms we also had problems to get bathroom towels on a daily basis. We would go touring the island during the day and when we returned to the Hotel at about 16:00 pm we had no towels in our bathrooms! We would phone reception to ask for towels and they would reply that they did not have any as the hotel was apparently full. I suggested to them to go and buy new towels!
The staff in the restaurant very unpleasant especially the men workers. We did not like the food either in their restaurant, day in and day out we were given the same food. For breakfast they would just re-heat the food that was left over from the previous day!
The rooms were comfortable otherwise. We found the swimming pool dirty. Definitely not a four star Hotel as they pretend to be!!!

Where do I start! This hotel is by far the worst run hotel I have ever been to. Before I get on to the poor management, the hotel is in a dreaful location nowhere near a decent beach so you need to take a taxi for at least 20 mins in order to get to one. It is in fact located in a grubby, run-down part of the main town.

This would have been acceptable if it was well managed. But it wasn't. The food was disgusting and consisted of a buffet of over-cooked stews, which were usually swarming with either ants or birds, or both. The bird problem was a particular nuisance as they had actually nested in the roof, which meant there were constantly flocks of little birds patrolling the dining area for food. And of course this means there are bird droppings EVERYWHERE. This is compounded by the fact that they never seem to clean the place or replace any of the linen on the tables.

The overall service was simply appalling. Nothing every gets done and the place is run by the most lazy and idle people I have ever come across.

Thankfully my family and I happened to come across a much better hotel which was a 3-star called Cotton Bay. This was infinitely better in everyway and after 2 nights at Pointe Venus we gave up and relocated here. Had we not managed to get in there I can safely it would have been the most miserable holiday I have ever had. We were so desperate to get away from Pointe Venus that we simply left, despite the fact we had already paid for 6 more nights! Upon checking out, they did not even question our premature departure and the man at the front desk simply said "bye" whilst he was on the phone.

Please avoid this hotel at all costs!! I have never been so disappointed.

The woman at the reception and all of the female staff are very friendly and professional. Half of the male staff are not friendly. The rooms are ok with a nice view. But no mixing of hot water with cold water in my shower (either boiling or cold).
Some of the food is ok, the rest is really bad (especially the buffet cooked meals).
The swimming pool is very dirty. No beach.
