“Amazing "mansion" in a breathtaking environment!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

Let me start by saying that when it comes to location i have to say that this place is nowhere near Village markets as it states on the internet but for us it didnt matter seeing we wanted to relax.

I have stayed in many hotels both in Europe and Africa and i can honestly say i´ve never experienced more plessant and friendly staff as i did at Sovereign suites.
The food there is rich in portions and the quality is great, yet the prices are quite pocket friendly.

I would not recommend this place for people that have buisness in town as it takes around 40min to drive into the city, but if you are looking for a beautiful place with great food in an amazing environment to relax then this is without a doubt the place for you!!

Me and my fiancée booked there for one night seeing we wanted to get out the city for a night but ended up staying for a week and we even got married there on the weekend!
After walking around the the first day, looking at the garden, gazebo's, pool area and all the different rooms in the house we found out that this was the perfect place to get married.

After talking to the staff about this they gave us the choice of which rooms to use, then provided us with a local flourist who did an amazing work with just a days notice and the chief organiced a full buffet with warm and cold dishes, and to top it all off a fantastic selection of desserts.

I have to say that the Wifi was not good in some areas of the house but in a place like this you dont even think about going online, also the hotwater had a tendancy to run out but as soon as i told the staff about it they moved us to another room.

The location is excellent, the house is amazing and gave me ideas on how i want my future house built, its a piece of art in itself.I visited on sunday, there was a wedding party or something of the sort and i was told it was brunch so i couldn't order anything i wanted. The service was good but the food was not upto the standard of 3500Ksh that i was being charged per plate,it was not worth it.You either make food equivalent to the high price you charge or else charge less for the mediocre food you have,no two ways about it.Why charge 3500Ksh and only 20 or 30 people turn out,yet you can lower to something like 1500-2000Ksh and i guarantee you 100+ people will show up during weekends. The gym was excellent but the tiles on the sides of the swimming pool are ageing/brownish and need replacement. All in all,its a place i would consider for a second visit.

I never seen such a beautiful hotel in Africa. Gorgeous style of exteriors and antique inreriors with cozy atmosphere like a home. Highly recommended to accommodate at the sovereign hotel, if you visit Nairobi. You will be also satisfied with the kind service and delicious food provided as buffet.

Compare to the price, the service and facilities are very satisfying. Especially the place is very calm and clean. You can also enjoy swimming pool and gym for exercise. Dont worry about eating too much :)

Everything about the Sovereign Suites was amazing.

The rooms were gorgeous and so unique. Our suite was perched right above the forest. We watched the sheep and listened to exotic birds.
The food and service was outstanding. Our room was spotless.
We loved that manager and staff. Highly recommend for conference and wedding.
I would recommend The Sovereign Suites to anyone who wants to find something fabulous and unique.

Thank you.

My fiance and I booked well in advance to try out this hotel for our dream honeymoon the evening of our wedding. The hotel was paid for in advance. They were also notified of our plans to marry earlier that day. While I was at the alter, I received a call from Sovereign Suites explaining they were cancelling our reservation for the opportunity to make more money hosting Kenyan government officials. After explaining that I was in the process of getting married and asking Sovereign Suites to contact me via SMS or email, the hotel proceed to call me several times.

Sovereign Suites offered to switch my wife and I to the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi. As an apology, we were told we were being given the honeymoon suite. When we arrived at the Intercontinental, we were informed that Sovereign Suites never made the booking. After two hours of being "sorted" we were led to a standard room. Although Intercontinental hotel staff were helpful, they apologized and explained that Sovereign Suites does not want to offer the upgrade we were promised. Upgrading rooms at our own expense was however an option.

We wasted another hour or two talking with Sovereign Suites on the telephone. Their only other solution was to put us up in some of their hotels in Naivasha that were less expensive than Sovereign Suites and much less luxurious "at no additional cost to us." To make a long story short, my wife spent a good portion of the day crying and we slept in our own bed on our wedding night (with the cousins in the next room). We were told to expect a refund in 10-30 days "at no additional cost to us." This hotel was a major disappointment!

We had our conference(total 30pax) in the Sovereign Suit during 7days. All of our participants were satisfied with the Sovereign Suit(Food and Service). In particular, Lunch and Dinner Buffets are really delicious. Conference Rms and Hotel Rms(Junior Suit, Presidential Suit, Penta House,Family Suit) are so classic. You never regret to select the sovereign Hotel.

Room Tip: The sovereign suit is near to the village market. It takes 10-15mins by taxi. You can shop in the vi...
