Allow me to start off with saying that my family and I were hoping to switch our arrival day by a day earlier, and the friendly staff could not have been more helpful in accomodating us, we were changed to a bigger suite and given the option of changing back to another suite if we didn't like this one, but we stayed where we were.
Check-in was a breeze, the staff was very friendly and helpful, one drawback was that the hotel is smack dab in the middle of 2 outlet malls. The room was very spacious, clean plenty of towels, a/c worked perfectly.
Drawback to the room was a sort of odd smell whenever you walked in, kind of cheeseburgery if you will.
We did continental breakfast the first 2 mornings BUT we will NOT be doing it the next 2 mornings....as we caught one of the staff/servers there pushing down trash in the trashcans with her plastic gloves on , THEN WENT TO ARRANGE FOOD AT THE BREAKFAST BAR WITHOUT CHANGING HER GLOVES !!!....we notified the front desk immediately...as someone who worked in the food industry for over 16 years, I know that is far from sanitary.
Six Flags was OK in general, the kids liked it, there were some lines, but they moved rather quickly. Prospect Mountain was well worth the $8 charge to go up and check out the beautiful scenery of the area, took the Steam Boat ride on the Mine-Ha-Ha, very relaxing and informative and have done the obligatory mini-golf,go-karts and laser tag, just to name a few......the village is crowded and full of quirky/tacky gift shops, plenty of variety of food in the area. Breakfast at Suttons Place in Queensbury was excellent, btw and 5 Guys Burgers and Fries was awesome.
All in all this was a good vacation, the Hotel was OK, not as stellar as I have read in previous reviews on here...I think the next time we come, we're going to venture up past the village area to stay in one of the rental cabins up there.
