“Ok if you know what you're getting into!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

We stayed here for two nights while in New York for Farm Aid last week. Booked through Hotwire and this is where we ended up. Honestly, had I known it would like this, I would have paid for something just a little nicer, but that's my fault!
Our room was super small with weird laminate floors, a small bed (I think full size?), and an average-sized bathroom. A mini-fridge (totally iced over), a microwave, and a table & chairs were crammed into a corner. Not much more we NEEDED, but an alarm clock and a coffee pot sure would have been nice. The room was mostly clean, other than dead bugs squished on the wall. The sheets did not fit the bed, so the mattress was exposed at the foot. However, the sheets were clean, so...pick your battles, right?
Customer service seemed fairly decent. We got in really late at night and I think the guy at the desk was sleepy - we had a hard time getting him to tell us where exactly our room was located, but we got it worked out.
Area was NOISY. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area, and the bar next door gets loud. Not the motel's fault, obviously, but something to consider if you're a light sleeper, along with the fact that the walls are VERY thin. We could hear exactly what our neighbor was watching on TV all night.
Location, all in all, is great. Right on Canada Street where lots of good stuff is! Really pretty, busy area, especially in the late summer.
Overall, it worked for us for two nights on a busy road trip. If you're going to be in town for longer, I'd say do a little more shopping around before you book.

Just one night on the road, and this big room close to the centre of town was great. New air con was quiet & efficient - everything worked and it was very clean. Only average because it is a Motel 6, but very good value in this case.

Adorable ! Big enough room for my boyfriend and I! Large mini fridge, microwave, mounted flat screen tv, queen sized bed, table with 2 chairs, shelving unit, night stand with phone. Plenty of floor space. Big clean bright bathroom.
super close to everything. 5 min walk to the lake. Canada street is the main strip in lake goerge villa so everything is within walking distance here. walls are kind of thin.... but we just turned the fan on and we couldnt here anything ;-) haha. Decently priced ( 90$ a night with military discount ) I would stay here again!!

Room Tip: Bring an alarm clock if you need. there is time on the microwave but thats it. OH! And bring shampoo...

Rented 2 rooms on bottom floor- too expensive for a room with no amenities at all but a few bars of soap and toilet paper. Even with the air conditioner on the extreme dampness never subsided. The bathroom was very tiny - bare walls - spongey that movede up and down when you stepped on them. This was supposed to be a suite for 3 adults. Not a hairdryer - no complimentary shampoo - no iron and six wooden coat hangers no closet only sparse shelving and a small area to hang anything: This was their suite i repeat. The towels where worn and thin and the room just never dried out, even the sheets on the bed remained damp.
To top it off upon returning after an evening out with one car around 11:30 PM there was no place to park. I mean no place to park! these rooms made you want to leave them - you could smell the smoke of the people around you in other rooms or outside in the parking lot smoking.
I would never recommend this Motel to anyone.

Room Tip: Don't waste your money.

This motel has a good, location to walk to all the amenities. Close to the Lake, cruises, parks and shopping. It has a decent sized ...not fancy pool. The claims that it provided WIFI was not true. They have WIFI in the lobby....our room was close to the lobby and it only worked at night. When I asked the front desk man his response was basically to show me that his modem had a signal and say that he had been told that but as I could see there was a signal . When I pointed out that it did not reach my very close room he just shrugged.

The house keeping was quick, sweet, and understanding... Seeing as how my mother in law desired to customize our room with extra towels, bags, and pillows.. The maintenance man became a quick friend of us an our pet. The room was a tad bit cramped with little room to move but nicely decorated. However, the floors seemed poorly cared for seeing as how we found numerous wrappers and other forgotten items from the last visitors. Not badly priced for a pet friendly room! I would certainly visit again, with less people in my group though.
