My husband and I just recently returned from a four-night stay at the Comfort Suites in Lake George. The hotel is just a few short miles from downtown Lake George and is within walking distance of the outlet malls. Overall, we loved the hotel and would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
Staff - Everyone we encountered at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. I absolutely love the way the lobby staircase is decorated. When we first arrived, I thought that they were hosting a wedding but that’s just the way it is decorated – very nice!
Parking - They have a large parking lot; no problems finding a spot.
Room - We were in a King suite, which features a large flat screen TV, whirlpool tub, refrigerator, microwave, and small seating area. The bed was very comfortable and the flat screen TV was a very nice touch. The bathroom has plenty of counter space for all of your things.
The whirlpool tub is advertised as a two-person whirlpool tub but unless you are very small ( we are 5’8 and 5’10) or like sitting with your legs crossed, you will have an easier time if you take turns in the whirlpool tub. The whirlpool tub is very relaxing and worth the few extra dollars but just be warned that it is really more of a one-person tub. In addition, with the whirlpool tub you have a bit more space to out all of your bath amenities because the walls of the tub are a bit deeper.
The refrigerator was a little bigger than I was expecting (hopefully the picture posted!) which was great for us because we like brining snacks and drinks with us. The microwave worked just fine.
The one downside to the room was that there was not much drawer space at all. There is one dresser with three drawers and a closet. I suggest bringing some extra hangers with you so that you can accommodate all of your clothes.
Housekeeping - Housekeeping did an excellent job. The room was always clean and tidy.
Breakfast - Breakfast was good. It is served between 6:30am and 9:30am each day and features a waffle making station, another hot dish that rotates daily (we had scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage while we were there), cereal, bagels/English muffins, Danishes, muffins, donuts, hard boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, fruit, as well as coffee, tea, milk, and juice.
The dining room area is a good size but we were there during July 4th week so it got a little crowded in there around 8:30am. On two of the days that we were there, they had an employee standing outside of the breakfast room taking names. They would not let you in the breakfast room until there was a table available for your group. I though that this was a nice touch because we have stayed in other hotels where the breakfast rooms were absolutely crazy!
Pool area - The indoor pool and Jacuzzi were nice. The pool goes from about 3ft to 5ft. The Jacuzzi did not get very hot but it was still relaxing. All of the kids seemed to enjoy the slide; it looked like loads of fun. There is also a small baby pool off to the side for the little ones to enjoy. The day we were at the pool there seemed to be a little too much chlorine in the pool because our eyes burned a little when we went into the pool (we did not go under the water either). You may want to bring goggles with you if you intend to go under the water. Another reviewer suggested bringing your own towels to the pool and I wholeheartedly agree because the towels are super small.
Overall, we had a great time! If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them for you.
