“Superb Cuisine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

One of the best dinners I have had in a long time. I had the lobster risotto, half portion for only $19.00. The wine list was very good and the service is to talk about. Please visit this superb restaurant. You are going to go back there every night, it's that good.

“The Best Dining Experience in Lake George Hands Down”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

We recently dined at Bistro LeRoux after seeing it listed as number 1 on Tripadvisor. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the hostess and sat in the main dining room. Our waitress, Melissa, greeted us with a friendly welcome and made sure we were comfortable. We ordered a Riesling from the respectable wine list which arrived appropriately chilled. The staff brought us a loaf of homemade warm and crusty sourdough bread which was excellent. Melissa reviewed the specials of the evening as well as described preparation specifics of entrees on the main menu.
Bistro LeRoux offers full sized entrees as well half plates. To get a better sampling of the menu we opted for a larger number of half plates. We ordered the Truffled Pomme Frites which were thin hand cut fries tossed in a truffle oil. They weren't crisp, but were creamy and the flavor was tasty. Next we had the Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus. The spice of the arugula complimented the sweet and saltiness of the dressing. The wrapped asparagus fused the flavors nicely. Next we had the Ahi Tune Roll. The outside was crispy and the inside had a thick cut of tuna. As a sushi connoisseur I was least impressed with this dish as the sweet chili sauce overpowered the sushi itself. Next we had the Crab Cake Risotto. Although a starchy dish with the complementing risotto, it was my favorite. The smokiness from the Andouille sausage made this a very memorable and comforting. Next we had the Butter Poached Lobster Rissoto. This was another dish with substance, texture, and complex flavor. Despite having sweet and salty hues from the chips, salsa, and cheese the lobster flavor came through with prominence. Next we had the Seared Sea Scallops which were prepared almost peasant style in a sherry brown butter sauce. They were firm and very flavorful. Lastly, we enjoyed the Cabernet Braised Short Ribs which fell off the bone. If they bring you a knife send it back because you won't need it. The rib had great complex salty and smoky flavors combined with crunchy and creamy textures. I should have ordered a full portion.
Overall we were extremely impressed with the experience. You can tell that owners Jacob and Tiffany Guay and the entire staff take great pride in the business. The restaurant is clean, organized, well managed, and warm and inviting. I can see why Bistro LeRoux has made it to the top of list and look forward to going back next time we are up in the Adirondacks.

My husband and I have been going to Lake George for many years. However, I always hesitate because I don't care for the food in Lake George, but now I do! You feel like your in NYC.... The quality of the food is awesome. Presentation is fab...... This is my go to place from now on..... They will see me there at least 5 times during the summer!

“True to the reviews”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

We had driven passed this bistro many times over the past four years since it opened. After reading all the positive, glowing reviews, we finally made our reservation. The meal and service (John)were excellent . Having the choice of small or full size items is great. The small salads are ample and the poached pear salad is absolutely delicious. The swordfish and scallop entrees were beautifully presented and equally delicious. The only negative is that since it is peak tourist season, the bistro was busy and somewhat loud. However, we will definitely return!

“Just go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

Favorite meal of the trip and one of the best meals we've enjoyed on any of our vacations. We are the farthest thing from "foodies" as you can see from our meal selections! Don't skip the salad here--they have cool choices. We loved the spinach salad with mascarpone stuffed poached pear, burger w/smoked gouda and pork shank (small portion). How can you not love a place that serves great food but is also a budget option? Our server Melissa was great and we were very, very lucky to squeeze in at 5:15 without having a reservation. Don't be like us, plan ahead & make a reservation so you're not out of luck. When we were leaving, the chef/owner said from the kitchen, "Enjoy the rest of your night." This is the type of restaurant I am happy we had an opportunity to experience and support.
