“Feels Like Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

I absolutely love the Acorn Lodge! We go up to Lake George once or twice every summer, and we always get up to the Acorn at least once so long as there's availability. There's only 6 rooms in this quaint little motel, but it makes you feel right at home. It's not right in town, but that can be a good thing! It's only about 5 minutes from the village, and it's right off the main road that leads to the village. My Mom, Dad, and I stayed in one room while my Grandma, Aunt, and 14 year old and 9 year old cousins stayed in another room. There are quite a few stairs to go up to get to the rooms, but nothing terrible. There's a lovely deck to sit and relax on in the sun or shade. There's beautiful hummingbirds, especially in the early morning. The pool is just beautiful when it glistens in the sun, and it's great to cool off in on a hot summer day. The owners, Al and Julie, are very kind, helpful, and have a lot of spirit. They make you feel right at home. Their dog, Anya, provides fun for the kids and adults! She plays fetch, and in the morning, she'll wait right by your door patiently. There's no need to worry about her! I've known this dog since I was 10, and I'm much older now. She's never done anything wrong and has never caused an issue for anyone. If you are allergic to dogs, she never goes in the rooms, and if you don't want to go near her, she won't go near you. She's really only there in the early morning anyway, and then she goes with her owner to work at their other motel. In the end, this is a wonderful motel which offers a nice place to sleep and stay and relax. It's truly a beautiful motel which makes you feel right at home. Enjoy your stay!

Stayed at this unpretentious but comfortable motel last year for 2 days with my adult son, on the way to and back from Montreal. It's located 5 minutes outside of the south side of town, just off a main road. Attractively rustic exterior, but room require a walk up several stairs. Friendly senior proprietors, with an equally friendly German shepherd dog. Room nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate with 2 queen beds. Long deck in front of second floor rooms, surrounded by woods. Very quiet. Has small in-ground pool, which we didn't use. No eating facility on premises, but wide variety of food establishments in town, 5 minutes away. For somebody looking for a decent, convenient place to stay on their way elsewhere, this was perfect.

Room Tip: All room face same direction onto a long deck. We stayed in room nearer the office and it was quiet...
