“Easy off the interstate, pleasant restaurant attached”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Stopped here on a cold snowy night, and glad for a pleasant hotel. Rooms adequet. Best part was not having to go out of the building for a dinner- restaurant menu said they were chosen for the best steaks in the area, but we were not that hungry and had steak sandwiches which were ok. Best part was a "real " breakfast- after 29 days trip with the same bagels and cold cereal it was a real treat to have someone cook real eggs any way you wanted them and nice home fries.

The staff was very accomodating and offered one of the best deals in Kingston. There was a nice little gym area and small game room. The restaurant and bar are right next to the lobby and a hot breakfast was included which made this a great value. The room was clean and the mattress fairly new. The pool area was just ok, and unfortunately there was no hot tub. The location was next to the Thruway and a parking lot in front of the building was filled with what appeared to be an overflow of new Ford trucks. Despite the unsightly front, we would definately come back again if staying in Kingston for the convenience and value.

This is my second and last time staying at this hotel. Both times, I was unable to connect to the hotel Wifi network with any of my devices. I never have this problem anywhere else. There supposedly are routers all over the hotel but for some reason, the browser would not open with the appropriate webpage so I could agree to their terms and connect.

The room was clean enough. The bed was firm and the linens were clean. The bathroom floor seemed somewhat sticky, it took a long time to get hot enough water to shower and the tub draining did not keep up with the volume of shower water.

The other beef I had was the lack of adequate staffing in the restaurant. The hotel management handed out complimentary breakfast vouchers to all who checked in. The hotel was full last weekend so a fairly accurate number of people wishing to eat would have been determined. Unfortunately, no extra staff was brought in to help with the extra people desiring to eat breakfast. The food was palatable but the restaurant itself is run-down, smells stale and needs a complete renovation.

I was able to use the computer in the lobby and was able to print a document via laser printer at the check-in counter but I would have really preferred to do my computer work in the comfort of my room.

Room Tip: No elevator, so ask for a 1st floor room if you do not want to haul luggage up to the second floor.

Stayed overnight with my husband and 3 daughters while visiting our son at Marist. The front desk staff was rude, barely greeted us and didn't look at us while we checked in. Had asked for a cot in the room for our youngest and it wasn't there. The gentleman who brought it to us was talking on his cell phone and never spoke to my husband when he delivered it to our room. The cot was covered in dust and looked like the sheets hadn't been changed. Wallpaper in the room was peeling and the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were dirty. Could hear guests in next room talking when they came in at 2am. Breakfast the next morning was decent but the restaurant wasn't very clean. We tried to talk with management about these issues the next morning but was told there was no manager on duty. We were given a business card and tried to contact the manager later but never got a return call. No response from our email to Quality Inn's corporate headquarters either. Will NEVER stay at another Quality Inn ANYWHERE!

Stayed with friends 1 night over Columbus Day weekend. Not a very secure hotel, outside entrances in which the doors were never locked. Front desk(who were not very friendly) gave us wrong directions to a very popular location. Did he do it on purpose since we were from out of state? Dont know but made us an hour late. Had to drag our luggage up the stairwells, which were stained and smelled foul.
Rooms were decent, very basic, very small bathroom. Will not stay in this hotel EVER again. There are others around that looked more secure and clean.

We stayed here before and I honestly was hesitant about staying here again because our room last time was dated, kind of dirty and it was noisy. Well, this time, we had a GREAT room ! Looked like they are updating several rooms. Our room was a King size bed which was very comfortable - room was HUGE. Bathroom was roomy and clean. Not much to complain about. This year, breakfast was included in the restaurant which is connected and that was nice.
We would stay again.

Front staff not very friendly. Walls paper thin and front desk could not care less. AC in room, the only thing that blocks out the obnoxious guests in room next door, would not stay on! Very expensive but they know they got ya! We won't be back!
